TBH, I don't see the chaos making it's way here- there were some public protests over the killing of George Floyd that actually saw police involvement (the police were equally dismayed by the killing)- more of a social bonding between populace and law enforcement. Minor stuff, really... but a powerful message of unity. Won't make any papers...

Yeah, thankfully I still have a few hundred rounds loaded in magazines for my rifles. One of them hasn't been zeroed just yet, but still, the noise that thing will make when fired will definitely let someone know I'd fired a round.

Of course, given that I live in a heavily wooded area that is outside city limits, I'm almost guaranteed to not see anything unless I drive several miles to get to downtown Little Rock. From what I can tell, it's focused kind of near the capitol district and the river market, and I very rarely go to either area under normal conditions.

And no one is mentioning that many of the places being torched are within a stone's throw of where Wapsi Square is situated?

Yesterday I left work at 5pm. Bus came around thirty mins later.Its nor.al route gets me most of the way home, half of that on the freeway (yah!).

I knew I'd need to run by my favorite ATM on the way, and I'd left the bike secured at the job for a change, so I took the 'loop in from the right" bus, vs the 'go left and get straight home', it'd mean, in the end I'd need one more bus to finish things off. And a walk, but hey...

7-somdthing pm and that last expected bus bails out, no show. Next bus after that is 45 mins away. I'm Downtown Silicon Valley & there's nothin to do.

Bus finally comes, it now 9-skmethig and the driver keeps pulling over to get on the horn... Soon enough Ilook up to see us passing the same 7-11, again, going back the wrong way.

I'm tired of pecking at the small screen, suffice to say, there was no blockade, the free way overpass had only been closed a short time, and that was four hours ago.

I got home around eleven...

Well... I mean... we all know, but the characters are also all safe (being fictional and all). In fact, I think the time skips have the Wapsiverse in the future, relative to us, so they're already past it all.

I wonder, though, if there will be a mention in the comic whenever it returns. Though I'm wondering if it'll just become a series of animated shorts for YouTube.

Tomorrow there will be 500 protestors in Omak, 15 miles from where I live. Pallets of bricks have been delivered to odd locations by some accounts. I am somewhat surprised by this, but we shall see what evolves.

Within the next few weeks, either we're gonna see a massive spike in cases of Covid-19, or we're gonna find that the lockdowns were all bullshit.

Within the next few weeks? Cases have already gone up again in AZ.

I say a few weeks because the incubation period can be as long as two weeks.

Also, I had to wear a mask for the first time. Had to go take a drug test for a job with the detailing vendor that replaced all the detailers at the McLarty dealerships, and I'd be at the Nissan dealer I'd worked at before Honda.

Some times, billboards remain in place long after the event they advertise has come and gone. Or, in some cases lately, the event never even took place...

Such as this one, which I saw in the subway train, on May 5th:The irony is that not only did the lockdown prevent the event from happening (a job fair), but after the havoc caused by the lockdown, people really could use such a job fair...

As more people started spending time outside, with the weather improving, they have started extending the size of the sidewalks, to promote social distancing while walking.
