"Teen Angel" was pretty much the type exemplar.

“Teen angel, can you see me
Teen angel, can you hear me...”

Oh dear Lord... what just bubbled up to the top of my brain:
  • Teen Angel
    Running Bear
    Last Kiss
    Dead Man's Curve
    Laura
And that's just off the top of my head after 50 years. That's how bad an earworm they were!
Don't forget Timothy!

Oh - and the absolute classic.

"Leader of the Pack".

Plus "Dead Man's Curve", although it wasn't so much a love ballad.

Nope. Pretty sure I never heard that one.

Edit: looked up the lyrics: never heard it.

Perhaps Pickle might use a variation of one i used on my daughter when she came running in and started singing a brand new song she heard playing on the radio "smoking in the boys room". When i started singing it as well, it had first came out when i was a teen she never did it again. Teens and parents cant not like the same songs. Its in the rules of childhood.

Castela should be glad she doesn't have Jennie {The Devil's Panties} Breeden's mother instead of Katharine:

...and the next comic:

...OTOH, Katharine would have to wait a couple years before laying those on the stinkweed, and, OTGH, they might actually have been more better to pull on Atsali a while back.

I'm guessing that Katherine's behaviour might in part be due to how happy she is feeling with a family and friends and a hot girlfriend. Another part of it, though, might be that she's still inwardly freaking out a bit over the fact that one kid is moved out, and the other one is already in high school. So, acting all happy and goofy, but focusing it a bit too much on the one kid she still has around.
