In most other older comics, there'd be a "blink blink" sound effect, or an "asterisk" over her head.

Or (for the older and/or retro among us) the sound of a record-player needle being dragged sideways across an old Three Dog Night album playing "One Is The Loneliest Number".

There is no way that this ends well.

He might forget any number of things... but the fact that Cas is easy to talk to won't be one of them.

Problem is that he won't associate that with anything else.

Way to friend zone yourself.

It might. It depends on how Hiroshi handles this. He may have a bad memory (I wonder if that's his hybrid nature, or just him?), but he seems to be sensitive and caring. He might be able to explain himself to Shawna so well, and be so 'cute but dumb puppy' earnest about them all being friends that he, Shawna, AND Cass spend the day hanging out together.

Only if Castela doesn't disappear for some Canyon time now that no one is looking... With everyone running off after Shawna, she just might. Something tells me it would be long frustrated sustained bursts with no focus other than to vent the pain she feels... Nope... no medallions will be made today...

Someone tell Cass that there's a no-burn order for most of the state of Arizona due to the dry conditions, please?

I thought Arizona was always dry, though. There shouldn't be enough growing there to start a wildfire, California style.

I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about spillover...

As long as Pickle doesn't start playing around with ClF3. If she does, all bets are off... that stuff will burn rock, sand, concrete, asbestos, and test engineers. Don't stand down-wind.

Castela might want to go have a chat with Nadette, who made a somewhat similar decision at one point. (Since a bunch of time has apparently passed, it will be interesting to learn how Nadette and Atsali's distance relationship has worked out, and what Nadette decided to do with her life in the meantime.)

Ah, yes, good old chlorine trifluoride. For those unfamiliar, yes, it really does burn all those things  -- see "Sand Won't Save You This Time" for hilariously-written details.
