Possible meet in Amarillo?
I will have a 1:15 layover in Amarillo this August 4 on my way to my 40th HS reunion. Anyone fancy a quick meeting while I stuff my face?

Gee, I don't know, is there anyone on these boards from Amarillo?

AmriloJim maybe?
I'm in Houston, so it's a bit far...

Connecting through Rick Husband Amarillo International, eh? Let me get these two parties departing this morning to their flights first, then we'll talk.

Tailwind "restaurant" at KAMA is little more than a snack bar with what reviewers call extravagant prices. I'm assuming the 1:15 is the length of your layover. If that falls between 8am-4pm, the English Field Restaurant close to the terminal would be more enjoyable. If not, I can always bring you some real food. Let me know... I'll meet your flight.

They have to fuel the bus in Amarillo, so downtown, not at the airport.

No airlines had anywhere near the deal Greyhound had, and I was born cheap. Seriously, my father had the nickname "A.B. Clarenstein" because he would pinch a penny until Lincoln passed out from lack of oxygen. I'll gladly swap an extra 24 hours travel time for the $400 extra fare.Jabberwonky wrote:He's very down to earth...AmriloJim wrote:Oops... assumed you were flying.

I should probably mention this is a lunch stop.

Re: Possible meet in Amarillo?
Sorry for not responding, I was already away from the computer getting ready to leave by the time you posted. I was there, had a Sub Of The Day special at the Subway around the corner from the bus station, and then boogied into the literal sunset. I also had a similar layover in the evening on Monday on the way back. 63 hours on the bus total with 57 hours on site for 2 reunions (one wet and one dry). My butt still hasn't recovered.
