The millipedes are perfectly welcome to stay far far away from me.

Cat', where you at?

General location would suffice, GPS coordinates not necessary. Just curious about the mountains, greenery, and granite.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i seem to recall hearing a long time ago, that between the two types, it's the centipedes that are usually the poisonous/venomous types right? and the millipedes are usually the ones that are OK to handle?? key words there being "usually"...

You are correct. Centipedes are usually carnivorous, and their front pair of legs are thicker, housing the venom glands. Handling centipedes can result in several punctures, making the area look perforated. The "bites" are a bit painful, but I haven't heard of them being lethal (aside from an allergic reaction, which I haven't heard of, either). They also have a habit of scattering the pieces of their prey that they can't eat. They're the serial killers of the invertebrate world, and I dislike them a good deal. Especially ever since I saw that video of one eating a mouse...

Millipedes, aside from a small minority of species, are detritivores. However, they can become a garden pest. Also, I've seen some big ones coiled up in a terrarium in a pet store.

Some millipedes make cyanide, but I don't think they make enough to be all that dangerous to humans. Not sure, though.

Centipedes are at about the same level of hazard as are bees and wasps. Normally it's just an, "Ouch! That really hurt!" reaction, but some people will have an allergic reaction to them which can be as dangerous as a bee sting allergic reaction. I suppose that centipede stings are less well known than bee stings because people are less inclined to go sticking their hands in places where centipedes tend to hang out.

Keep in mind, though, that some species of centipedes are considerably larger than a bee, so the pain of being stung is correspondingly more fun and exciting.

Millipedes are often poisonous as well, but they just release toxins defensively by "sweating" them out through pores in their sides. They don't have any means of injecting it into you, unless they develop opposable thumbs and learn how to make tiny little hypodermic needles. So the usual reaction to millipede poisoning is just some smelly stains on your skin and clothing, and perhaps a bit of itching. Again, though, people can be allergic and have stronger reactions, so it's best to be a tad cautious.

The guy in that last photo got to be about fourteen inches long, and at that size they can sort of bite if they get to feeling feisty. It's really just a strong pinch, though, and isn't going to do any damage other than startling you. His main threat was tickling you as he walked along; he managed to work his way up a girl's sleeve one time when she was holding him, and there was much hysterical giggling and shrieking until the situation was resolved.

give it a few years to get some upgrades to nuclear power instead of fossil fuel power, and i swear that looks like one of the most common places/things you get Fusion Cores from in the Fallout 4 game.

That tractor may look mighty ancient today, but it was a big advance from the first model.

They wove that one out of cane.

That's because it wasn't a tractor, it was a threshing machine.
