Not nice, but funny and well timed. We've already been told that she's more or less indestructible so we know she'll be fine. Some people just have to learn things the hard way. Monica needs to learn that the time to logic things away is gone and that denial is not her friend.

Ow. Ewewewww. Yikes.
And that appears to be Bud administering todays Reality Check. She certainly seems sanguin about Monica' indestructibility.

Bud, sweetie, the expression is "reach out and touch someone" not "reach through".

Re: Nice Story 2012-10-12
And for show and tell today ...
Now, wouldn't Bud feel foolish if they were wrong about the Phoenix thing? I believe a small cut on her arm would have probably sufficed as a demonstration. This is a bit drastic, even if Monica is being stubborn about the whole thing.
So, I guess Shelly's BF has some Phoenix blood too? Nudge as well? And how come it took her the normal time to heal from injuries before this incident? It must have or she would have noticed it before now. Did she just now come into her own on this drastic self healing thing?
Will she grow a new heart (quickly) or will Bud have to put it back so it can re-attach? What about the blood? She's going to need a lot. Where is it coming from?
Anyway, stand back folks, here come da fire bath!

Will Bud dress as Mola Ram for Halloween (He's the priest dude from Temple of Doom in case you didn't know).
Also, I noticed Paul changed the site around a bit. Some things are in different places. Or maybe he didn't, and my browser is going bork.

We're assuming it's Bud that did this. I think it's significant that whoever did it is in shadow. Could be someone.else beside Bud or Shelly who stepped in. Connie, for example. She and Monica aren't on the best of terms.
Also, batten down the hatches. I sense incoming posts of outrage inbound.

(jeez, I can't believe nobody got there with that one before me. Anyhow... drops a jewel-encrusted Heart Sutra pendant into the Pun Jar)
EDIT: I'd say this pretty much resolves the question of whether Shelly had briefed Bud about what was going on with Monica, and what would probably happen during Monica's little nap. There's no way Bud would have done what she just did, without being very certain of the outcome... if Monica's little flame-walk-and-OOBE had been a surprise to Bud, she wouldn't have dared hit Monica with anything more than another dirty look.

Oh, man - just looked again. Shelly's run of expressions this week has been just wonderful.

And a barrage of heart puns like; Deep down, I don't think Monica cares much anymore. It's obvious her heart's just not in it.Boxilar wrote:Also, batten down the hatches. I sense incoming posts of outrage inbound.

True, but Titans may also have Phoenix blood. Part of what makes them Titans maybe. These beings were fornicating left and right after all. Who knows what all their ancestry really includes.Fairportfan wrote:Nope - Justin is a pure Titan - Epimetheus, Prometheus's brother.Bathorys Daughter wrote: So, I guess Shelly's BF has some Phoenix blood too?
