I think that away from people that need to be removed from society, she's just fine.

ETA: What Suzie is talking about is called "blood doping" when you do it to get an edge in endurance sports.

Lily looks genuinely happy Aunt Suzi could make it... as does Pickle. I think the little stinkweed is doing a lot towards keeping Lily and Suzi grounded. Atsali too, but not as much.

I would appear that Suzi is none too happy about her outlook on life either... It appears to me that she finds the whole thing a distasteful but necessary evil... a mantle she's taken on herself to avoid others having to do it maybe... or a sort of one person "Star Chamber".

2) Suzie is feeling unworthy, but she can get over it by focusing on something external.

Oh, so that's what it means. I take it then, the sex worker get's his/her month old blood infused back into them so they can endure a vampire drinking some of their blood during sex? Why don't the vamps just drink the old blood and skip the middle man/woman/fish/reptile/bug/whatever?

It's also possible that, in the heat of passion, they can wind up drinking without even thinking about it.

Yeah... I think it's a good sign that Suzie is accepting a role in her new family. Having Castela look up to her (as is apparently the case) is probably very good for her.

Granted, it's a rather nontraditional family... she's a vampire, Grandma Lily is a much older vampire, Mama Bear Katherine is a human chimera, the two kids are of two entirely different species, and there's only one vaguely-close (1/12 I think) genetic relationship in the whole kitten kaboodle. Not exactly your stereotypical, idealized 1950's nuclear family with dad (smoking a pipe), mom (happily cleaning the house), and 2.5 children (all using the most popular cavity-preventing toothpaste, as 9 out of 10 dentists recommend). And yet, they seem to be doing quite well indeed!

Just shows you how far this fine country of ours has come over the past few decades!

Blood families just happen. Real families are chosen. Sometimes there's an overlap between the two, and that can be wonderful, but it isn't essential.

Considering that the umbrella term for a subset of blood related sexual fetishes is "vampire" I wouldn't be surprised if that sort of thing were to exist. If so, they are (thankfully) rather difficult to find.

Frankly, when sex gets so boring that one must add violence or gore to it, one simply needs to lay off of sex for a bit instead. And maybe seek out a counselor.
