Actually, I was hoping more for something like this:

(Disregard the actor behind the spoon, for purposes of my demonstration she is [surprisingly] superfluous...)
I am still looking for something like this:
Impact-> surface deformation --> expanding wave --> ripples converge and rebound --> fun is had by all.
but, I'm running out of impetus to deliver on my visual gag so I may let it go altogether.
