Off Again!

I wonder if MIB was smart enough to set up a way to port Sali to their location in the library? I hope they did. But probably not.

Once again Sali jumps off the cliff without thinking. You would think she had learned her lesson. I can understand her not trusting MIB after all Kathy clearly does not and has disdain for them. But this unthinking jump to a conclusion that MIB does not trust her and that she now has to go visit the site is beyond teenage idiocy! I wonder if the Ethians left some sort of trace that triggered Sali's mindless rush after hearing that a signal was coming from beneath.

Nadette did try and slow her down but you have to get Sali listening first for logic to sink in.

Hey I got the Hat Trick!!!

I believe the more immediate concern is where is the bottom of that shaft.

Heh.

Paul has told us that Atsali grows up to be a best-selling YA adventure author (i think that was it).

What her readers don't know about her books featuring an impetuous teen who stumbles into increasingly more hair-raising adventures is that they're non-fiction - only the names have been changed to protect the author.

Those last two panels sound very bad taken out of context. *gets swatted with a rolled up newspaper*

Atsali, with Nadette in tow,
seek adventure and won't take it slow,
so they get to the door-
and find there's no floor-
so down to the bottom they go...

I don't do puns- I do limericks... and so far, they are exempt from the pun jar...

"Why are ME running?" shouldn't that be 'WE' running? Tried refreshing didn't change the typo.

And once again Atsali teaches Naddette how to do a 'Wyle E. Cyotte' impression.

I think we decided a while back that those who limerick, have a moral obligation to stock Confusion Corner with some really great baked goods.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive...." And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming "Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?"

What's so hard to understand? It all makes sense if you realize the same two things that Atsali does.

1) If they really didn't want her to go there, they would have told her mom first, and her never.
2) She's way overdue for another adventure.

So the unquestionable solution is to get to Mapini on her own so that the MiB aren't forced to restrict her movements and cause her to be less useful. That way she can do her thing without becoming encumbered with adult supervision, the MiB can have plausible deniability for involving her, and after she solves the problem, everyone will chalk it up to the antics of an impulsive teenager and no big stink will be raised. She's even brought Nadette along to vouch for this apparent impulsiveness.

Sorta obvious when you take a good look at it.

Ah. So perhaps this comic, with the new cast, will not be merely a high-school drama, paranormal though it be...

It certainly looks like she may not have learned as much from her previous adventure as she should have... But that's OK, because she's not a naive schoolgirl! She's 15 years old! 8-)

I suspect this is more like through the looking glass, or follow the white rabbit type, entry into the gate system. But Sali needs to keep Jacob in mind or she will be late for an every important date!

"Watch that first step, it's a lulu."

I always wondered what the safeguard for the Library annex looked like when activated...

EDIT: Oh, and based on that strip, I'd say Atsali is actually 17.

"And just when I thought I was coming to the door, she whispered sweet, 'it's a room without a floor!'"
