It's snowing. Again.

Post by MerchManDan »

Not unlike the continent of Westeros, the Canadian prairies experience winters that seem to go on for years; this winter is no exception. One of the local newspapers put forth the question, "What do you want to tell Old Man Winter?" to some Winnipeggers and recorded the answers in a video that really captures the zeitgeist of my fair city. Personally, my own feelings about this season aren't fit to be expressed in polite company; it's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Oh, it's stopped snowing. Again. We'll see how long this break lasts.

Well, we had to get one last snowfall in there before winter officially ends....... Just in time for the first snowstorm of Spring that I'm sure is coming.

At this point I'm giving Spring one week to show up........ then I'm getting a flamethrower and making my own spring.

I think the weather makes it appropriate for you two to get together to grab a "cold one". Still hoping to arrange a DFW Wapsi "convention" one day...

As if any more proof was needed that we're slowly going bonkers, I prou--uh, I present to you all: Bring Your Own Cup Day at 7-Eleven, "in which residents were invited to fill almost any container of their choosing with Slurpees." Things went out of control pretty quickly; my personal favourite is the big ceramic hamburger (which I think was originally a cookie jar).

Well, we do enjoy the occasional thaw--it reminds us that winters do not (quite) last forever.

But yes, by this time of the year, winter has definitely worn out its welcome.

OTOH, by this time of the year, 40° feels pretty balmy.
And even 25° is not too cold. Shirtsleeve weather.
