I hope the mead doesn't have to be drunk through a filter straw, like the Egyptian beer.....
Well, in late Bronze Age Greece and Anatolia and that general region, the fashionable drink was a mixture of mead, beer, and wine. And then they'd add in some sap from pine trees for flavouring. I'm not sure how that mix would resinate with modern drinkers, however.
Why do we always seem to go for the dregs of the puns around here?
And why is the pun jar pining for an offering?

Elmentary, my dear Watson. It can foresee the inevitable result of consuming such a drink: a firry tongue.

I've got a fine cask of Amontillado down in my catacombs that I can offer; anybody care to come down with me to help fetch it out?

Group: The Beatles
Song: Hey Jude
Misheard Lyrics: "Someday monkey won't play piano song...piano song....."
Best delivery method: Powerpuff Girls episode "Meet the Beat-Alls"
Bonus: Includes several glee-inducing Beatle references, puns, lyric puns, etc.

Astral flames are just pretty flames. Astral flames plus alcohol = pretty pretty flames. :P

Hmmm. I was thinking that alcohol vapors from the large quantity of Nudge's Private Stock that Bud seems to have downed, plus a tiny spark of plasma from Bud's weapon system, might account for the recent Thoom. Fuel-air explosives can be quite potent if the flammable vapors are well-mixed with air prior to ignition.

I doubt that this would eliminate the subsequent hangover, though. I don't think acetaldehyde and fusel oils would have burned off....
