Maybe she morphs them soft when she is near a door so they bend ... but I am guessing that it is parallax. The doorway looks narrow because of her distance from the doorway in relation to her distance to the observer. (Yes I used to get stared at by the other kids when I was younger because I would talk way to technically).

The important thing here is that it is Nudge that found her first. As Euryale noted, Nudge is a caring soul to her friends, (and I think she is probably a fair hand with a mop)

Very carefully.

I second that it is a good thing Nudge is the one there with her but for a little different reason. With their history, Nudge and Phix must still have a somewhat love-hate relationship. Sometimes it's easier to be honest about your dark side with someone you are less attached to as apposed to your closest friends.

er - I think that Nudge knew there be a bloody mess (she was at the beach party, people talk, and being immortal, she had to have seen worse) - so what emotional state is Phix in?

Perhaps.

Let's not forget that while Bia is the one who played Phix and her kid, Nudge is the person who knew about it...

...and didn't tell her.

Unless there are much deeper machinations going on, which I would certainly not yet rule out.

Ok, my captions would be

1) I'm assuming this is not a nosebleed.
2) Can I get you a moistened towelette?
3) I love what you've done with the place.
4) You are full now? Right?
5) Tell me this isn't Monica!

And btw, there's blood everywhere, and still no sign of the books.

They're probably off in some nearby corner. Possibly a small reading area, complete with cozy fireplace apparently, and maybe comfy chairs which appear on demand or supplied by the Spanish Inquisition.

I tend to think this is before the beach party. Euryale said that it had been two weeks since Monica left the Library, and I think that Nudge would have gone in to check on Phix sometime. So I think this is no more than a day (probably less) since Phix's lunch. I dunno where they are in the Library, or what happened to the books, but I think the Library itself is very well able to clean things up and build extra walls as necessary. I think that Nudge is just the right person to handle Phix right now, for reasons already mentioned.

Most cats hate water but you never know. For example, tigers like to swim.

That right there is probably enough to make Nudge lunch if she's not careful.
