Chibi Wapsi!!!
I could NOT help myself!
Been meaning to do this for ages
Normally Tina never gets this upset, but when people try to order as if they are in StellarSucks, then she gets a bit wild
Anyway, immortals can take it.

Only if you get the outfits the right colour...;p~Dave wrote:Monica's flaming-pumpkin resurrection, and the helpful posting by fans of several very nice photos and links showing authentic jaguar spot patterns, have goaded me to do a quick revision of the "Monica as Tigger as a Jaguar, stuck in a tree" mashup I did some time ago.
I haven't yet had time to do a proper job on Pooh and Piglet (that is, Shelly and Bud) yet.
MerchManDan and shadowinthelight - thanks for a couple of most excellent guffaws!
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Guess I need to drop by the library and check out a copy of The House at Pooh Corner to double-check!DinkyInky wrote:Only if you get the outfits the right colour...;p~Dave wrote: I haven't yet had time to do a proper job on Pooh and Piglet (that is, Shelly and Bud) yet.
Hmmm... were Shepard's illustrations originally done in color, or were they strictly shaded line-art? If I'm going to be held to a standard of color honesty, I'd like to make sure that the color reference is actually original, and not just a Disney illustrator's idea of what Shepard would have done if he had actually done it
EDIT: Hmmm, my suspicions seem to have been close to correct. It appears that the original artwork of The House at Pooh Corner was black&white only. There is a "Color Edition" of the book, which is "re-colored" and "authorized by the Milne and Shepard estates" but there's no indication that either Milne or Shepard was personally involved in the coloring or personally approved of it.
So, the "color reference" for Pooh, Piglet, et al is going to be somewhat derivative at best. I suppose I can combine Paul's color references for the characters' skins and hair, with the re-colored Pooh and Piglet clothing...
Or, I can declare that the "right colour" is the texture and tone of the black&white shadings that Shepard used back in the 1920s
Re: Fan Art
For what it's worth, I've posted a Wapsi Color Reference based on samples of the the main characters from strip.

And I thank you indeed! I downloaded a copy of it when I was working on the Dark Phoenix image, and I eyedroppered colors from it just last night in order to do Jaguar Tigger Monica's hair color.Atomic wrote:For what it's worth, I've posted a Wapsi Color Reference based on samples of the the main characters from strip.

Re: Fan Art
Okay...so every time I see someone misspell forest when referencing the Time Forest (see this post as a reference), I keep thinking of a fan art strip of Shellynx in the Time Forest with Connie looking exceptionally annoyed as Forrest Gump sits on a tree root/branch explaining something his mama always said. Second panel is Connie giving Shellynx a look of "Seriously?! How long are we supposed to put up with this?" Third panel is Shellynx's fist where Forrest's head used to be.
I wish I wasn't borked and could draw.
