Pablo is plugging right along on this. So far we have seen a couple of minutes of nearly complete animation.

Wasn't that long ago that an update of any stripe was replied to within hours if not minutes- now it goes for a full day?

Grylloideaphobia.

Many of the forum participants have a deep, unsettling fear of the sound of crickets.

Since that's most of what we've been hearing here (and on the main Wapsi site), they've taken cover. :(

Grylloideaphobia? Is that for real? Or do I have to attack it with a limerick?

It's a homage to the master: https://phobia.fandom.com/wiki/Anatidaephobia

I'd say that a limerick is called for (and certainly welcome) although there probably is someone, somewhere, who does actually find the sound of crickets to be deeply disturbing. We're an odd species.

Those who have truly researched the issue know that you don't need to fear the sound of crickets. Crickets only make that sound when they're happy and well-fed. They're no danger to us then.

It's when they're hungry, on the hunt, sneaking across the landscape like bands of poison-fanged carnivorous ninja locusts, that they fall completely silent. You'll never hear them coming.

Sleep well!

"Grylloideaphobia" troubles
our good Sgt. Howard, who bubbles
with frustrated rage
that this limerick page
doesn't yet have his great rhyming couples.

Great Bull of Heaven? Sounds like it'd make for some helluva good steaks.

There are things that annoy me the most,
and that cause my bad temper to roast,
but none can compare,
to Dave's haughty air
and his DAMNED "Grylloideaphobia" post!!!

Now understand- don't get me wrong-
Dave and I usually get along
but my limericks fall short
when stuffed with the sort
of words that are SEVEN syllables long!

So as I wallow through these vocal thickets,
(I swear, I ought to sell tickets)
it should be a crime
for me to waste time
on a word that means "GREAT FEAR OF CRICKETS"!
