Random Web Browser TAB Sample...

Random sampling of my currently open web browser tabs

- ls command: how can I get a recursive full-path listing

- “Your Honor, Can I Tell the Whole Story?” <Firefox/Pocket recommendation>

- http://wapsisquare.com/comic/what-if/ (and the Forum, natch...)

- 'Utah Phillips' search, oh what a Rabbit Hole that turned out to be...

(a bunch of HP web sites, trying to find how to connect a 'Stapler/Stacker/Finisher' unit to a new 8XXX Print Engine; Note- I found the instructional video
[asaide: WHY THE FRACK DO WE NEED FRACK’N videos WHEN ALL I NEED IS A FEW LINES OF INSTRUCTION?????!!!!!!???]

You understand, I searched HP's Support Web site: 'nada', I further searched YouTube in the most generic fashion. . . Found said 'Instructional' video hosted by... wait for it...

HP.com yep.
Couldn't search for it from their own web site, but YouTube could find it, no problem.
<harrumph> But I digress..

- iDevice (phone & tablet) Battery Savings Tip n Tricks

A bunch of Wiki entries, including: Hailee_Steinfeld, Dove_Cameron, Sanaa_Lathan, & Basil_Rathbone. It must be the cold weather months...,

Oh and there’s also Chloë_Grace_Moretz, Katie_Holmes, & Claire_Forlani.
(While it might lead the gentle reader into thinking it represents a 'type', demographically speaking, my tastes are much more wide ranging than just this snap-shot would have one believe...)

Lastly, there are all manner of YouTube stubbies laying about, including Dua Lipa and 'the Graham Norton Show' which I'm currently binging on.

There turns out to be some Adult Content as well, surprisingly less than I myself expected actually: a web-comic titled 'Deviants' I found when I went to upvote WapsiSquare...

(I realize I left out a lot, but still I'm pretty impressed by G-man's list of open-tabs).

btw- I often keep a picture on one just to be able to click to on random moments, sometimes it's striking art work, or feats of engineering, but right now it's

Funnily enough, I think a look into the tabs of someone’s long-running browser is a unique look into how their mind functions.

Mine jumps all over the place, flitting here and there as per usual for ADHD, making connections that, generally, most people wouldn’t immediately notice, and making jumps few can predict.

Then what dopes it say that I almost never have more than 5 tabs open - and that usually when I'm writing and researching?

Right now I have tabs for my Gmail account, a YouTube video I've half-watched and this browser window. Period. I want something else I open it. I've never found having a dozen or two tabs open productive unless I'm working and accessing a half-dozen sessions in a bit of software under test in private table to keep the credentials separate.

I will admit there is a converse to this - I have a huge, categorized set of bookmarks. If it's getting accessed more than once, it's going in the browser bookmarks.

I tend to stop around 6-8 tabs just to focus on reading whatever I had open for reasons, clean up, then carry on with the main project/reading tab.

On the other hand, I have 16 Themes in Win10 rotating rough many hundreds (Cartoons) to thousands (Nature) of pictures including a very broad art morgue divided into various categories - General, Walking, Faces, etc.

Win 7 let you set the shuffle to as low a 10 seconds, and Win 10 doesn't unless you hack the theme file.

If you don't know how to do this, then go to:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

Open the desired themename.theme file with a text editor (notepad.exe - no formatting)

The very next to the last line will be : Interval=123456... Change to Interval=10000 for 10 second changes. Save file and reload theme. Done. Enjoy!

P.S. - I include this \Themes directory in my regular backups. As long as the target directory exists, it will work.
