Pass the popcorn!

Post by Alkarii »

Okay, so, I went and saw Hereditary, because it started more than an hour before Upgrade, which will have to wait until this weekend.

I'm not gonna spoil it, but it's pretty good, and apparently much better than most horror films have been recently (I haven't seen one in a while, because they've been awful lately). Though the basic plot is kind of cliché, the execution of it is pretty neat, and there's a lack of the typical jump scare accompanied by a loud chord or other sound, which is refreshing.

It isn't a perfect movie, but certainly worth a watch in the theater. I had the privilege of being one of only three people to make it to the first showing of the day.

I finally got to see Ready Player One yesterday. I was expecting it to be kind of disappointing even though it's a Spielberg film, but nope, it was great, though a bit longer than I expected at a little over two hours. I did find it odd when the movie was being marketed that there were so many 80s references, but that's actually explained in a convincing manner.

I kind of like the neighborhood the lead protagonist lives in, even if it is a crowded slum in a dystopian future. It really seems lime it'd be an interesting area to explore.

I'd recommend checking it out if you have a couple hours of free time.
