Did they make all of those WALL DRUG billboards out of recycled Burma Shave road signs?
Or was it those Stuckeys Pecan Log adverts?

North and South Carolina, but lotsa luck hammering THOSE two together... DC?... statehood?... banishment, maybe...TazManiac wrote:Which brings to mind my long suffering sugestion that the US combine some states together...
North and South Dakota
West & Virginia
(there's another pair, but I fergets...)
One of the benefits would be keeping the '50 States' and having room to add a few new ones. (I mean really, how long does P.R. need to keep on waiting?), and D. C. Statehood. Or not.

Re: Photo Album
The Carolinas and Dakotas don't want to be combined. In fact, I believe one of the Dakotas is actually petitioning to rename themselves "Dakota".
And West Virginia separated from Virginia for a reason.

According to the Constitution, DC can't be a state until we move the national capitol out of it. And at that point the state that surrendered the land might (if they are sufficiently insane) demand it back.TazManiac wrote:Which brings to mind my long suffering sugestion that the US combine some states together...

The other pair you're probably thinking of is North & South Carolina.
I know of several proposals for states to secede from the US, or cities to secede from states... most such proposals appear to be less popular in the territories that would hypothetically be seceding than they are in the territories that would be left behind.Sgt. Well! I'm just going to have to dig out my disks and try that! I remember riding a chairlift in one and getting off mid way. Never quite followed up and finished the game. Nostalgia, nostalgia...

Yeah. Beyond Zork has a funicular tour of a dangerous jungle that you have to get off and back on at each of four towers to explore the jungle because you can't get there any other way.Atomic wrote:Well! A word of advice: There are two places where you can go underground for the final sequence. Do NOT go intk the one that is in the shade - take the one on a sunny hillside.

Surprisingly, they don't take up that much space. Probably around 300 sq. meters.
The problem is mostly getting them in position.

Yeah, most of us don't have a mail slot that's wide enough to accept that sort of package.jwhouk wrote:Surprisingly, they don't take up that much space. Probably around 300 sq. meters.

The postman always leaves them sitting out on the porch in the rain, and you never know who's going to sneak up to your house and walk away with the package containing your nice vintage P-40 that was flown only to church by a little old ex-WASP from Pasadena.
Next thing you know, you'll see it being sold on CraigsList.

Re: Photo Album
Lessee- downsides to P-40 in back yard... grass under wings is toast, engine run-ups and occasional firing of guns will irritate neighbors, won't be able to keep local kids off it, might leak oil.jwhouk wrote:Surprisingly, they don't take up that much space. Probably around 300 sq. meters.

Upsides to P-40 in back yard... IT WOULD BE SO COOOOOL!!!! >hyperventilating<
Cool wins.

Re: Photo Album
It bugs me how I can't shake the feeling that it's bad aerodynamics to fly that P40 with its jaws open.

It's a net win for them, though. They can catch and eat more seagulls that way.Typeminer wrote:It bugs me how I can't shake the feeling that it's bad aerodynamics to fly that P40 with its jaws open.
Re: Photo Album
And those jaws aren't all the way open; just enough to get enough air for combustion... And chewing...
