Bad Company - 1995

Post by TazManiac »

This is in general about the 1995 film (no not the terrible 'comedy' w/ Chris Tucker & Sir Anthony Hopkins), nor the Rock & Roll band,
disambiguation
but rather the film with :

Ellen Barkin
Laurence Fishburne
Frank Langella &
David Ogden Stiers to name just a few.

For some reason it's gotten a really bad score on Rotten Tomatoes, but thats gleaned from Film Critics methinks, so grain of salt and all that.

It's noir-ish in tone and genre, it has a very cynical outlook and it's meant for grownups to enjoy.

The funny part that got this particular post going was while reminiscing online re: wikipedia, IMDB, etc- a reference to the cast containing one Mr. Jonny Lee Miller, (he of 'Hackers' and most recently 'Elementary' fame), as Michael Hickey.

I went backwards and forwards through the movie a few times looking to spot Mr. miller hiding in the shadows or something (after all, it was a friend of mine, who I was introducing the new Sherlock Holmes derivative to, that pointed out Mr. Miller, the lead, was also 'Crash Override' from Hackers...) Huh.

Anyway, I was looking for ol Jonny in the crowd but a further investigation of his filmography led me to discover that Rotten Tomatoes, MSN's online stuff, and who knows who else's info were mashing a US film from 1995 together with a made for TV UK film of the same name, but it was made in 1993.

US: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1058955-bad_company/
UK: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0139874/

Anyways, if it's on the INTERNET, it must be right, right?

Rent, borrow, (buy?) this film, its halfway decent.
