Okay - more flowers.

Indoor flowers, at the new Kroger. (Stitched up from several pictures taken with my phone)

I'd hate to have to be the one to have to USE that set... especially with today's tech-rep "standard reply #2: 'if you turned the PC off then on again and it DIDN'T work... you'll have to reinstall the OS." ... ugh! 3711 disks, and pray to whatever deity you worship to never DROP the set and get them mixed up!

yeah, and as amusing as that pic is, I'll bet that's a pirated copy, or photoshopped... NOBODY(tm) uses a 3.5" floppy any more... heck, i seem to recall a friend of mine that works at M$ saying something about how they were (or already did) pull the code that would let the OS even TALK to the physical floppy drive itself, out of the newer OS's...

Only once it lands.

Which should be happening pretty soon around here.

Washed the car today, it's all blue and shiny. Once it turns yellow, i'll post some pictures of that.

Meanwhile, i got some other pics today that i'll be putting up in the next few days.

I also notice the water is going over the waterfall right to left, but the 'secret ingredient' is flowing upstream, left to right. I think I saw this in an issue of 'Great Model Railroads' one year.

That's not a waterfall - it's the moonpath on a lake the stream flows out of.

This post took over an hour to write on my phone earlier, but a cell tower gremlin decided to eat it. Cue take two from home.

One of the perks of my job is we get to listen to music while on the line. Speakers only though, no headphones. Lately I've been getting tired of listening to what I have on my phone (stuff from my own CD collection) and decided to see what forgotten things I had in my old computer files. Among several albums I copied from friends years ago are also some single songs I downloaded from people sharing on the college computer network way back in 1998. One of those files was "Ultra Low Bass.mp3". The use of ID3 tags hadn't really caught on yet in those times so everyone would just put that info into the filename. It always bothered me that I never knew the artist or if that was even the proper title but for some reason I never got around to researching it. I played it for a coworker yesterday who liked it and was curious as to who it was. I told him I would look into it. When I got home I did a YouTube search and started listening to a number of songs until I found the right one. It turns out the song is called "Can U Hear Me" by a DJ named "Bass Mekanik". Finally, after more than fifteen years of wondering, I was able to properly tag the file with the appropriate information.

The track doesn't have any vocals beyond a short, highly distorted loop that is barely recognizable as a human voice. No matter how many times I listened to it in the past I could never understand what it said. After updating the file and uploading the new copy to my phone I played it one more time over my computer speakers. As if by magic, my ears clicked and I was suddenly able to understand what that mysterious voice that had vexed me for so long was repeating over and over: "Bass Mekanik. Can u hear me? Bass Mekanik."
