Still play Pokémon Go. I'm pretty sure this is how things went down:
Niantic wrote:Boss: Money is good. How can we make more of it?
Employee 1: We can add some features the users have been asking for since day one so they will want to pay.
Boss: Get out.
Employee 2: We can completely break the in-game currency earning system so they will have to pay cash for items.
Boss: Brilliant!
The day after the big update:
Niantic wrote:Boss: Everybody is pissed off. How can we shut them up?
Employee 1: We can bring back the old system with a few tweaks to address the problems it had.
Boss: How did you get back in here?
Employee 2: We can up the rate at which coins are earned but cut the daily maximum players can theoretically collect in half while keeping the convoluted system that ensures players have no control.
Boss: I knew there was a reason I liked you.
Edited after better learning the details of the "fix".

I was just looking over the cast list for Cars 3.

I noticed a lot of NASCAR people, mostly voicing characters with names that were pretty lame plays on their own names ("Jeff Gorvette").

SLightly more subtly, however, Junior Johnson is voicing a character named "Junior Moon".

I've been passing over a bunch of neat quotes from my wallpaper changer, because I didn't have time to post them here, but this one, I just have to:
“Quit now, you'll never make it. If you disregard this advice, you'll be halfway there.” - David Zucker

As Spider Robinson pointed out in a short story some years ago, it's extremely difficult to kill one of the Beatles, at least more than temporarily.

They keep reincarnating spontaneously. They just bounce back into the material world, every time.

Rubber Soul, you know.

I had to read this quote a couple of times, to get what he was saying...
“July 4. Statistics show that we lose more fools on this day than in all the other days of the year put together. This proves, by the number left in stock, that one fourth of July per year is now inadequate, the country has grown so.” - Mark Twain

Just saw this quote, and it made me laugh:

Growing up, (and as we grew to suspect, in large part due to her hectic schedule) my Mom decreed that 'Birthdays last a Week".

I don't see why we can't have more than one 4th of July...

We can celebrate the 4th of July according to the Gregorian calendar, the 4th of July according to the Julian calendar, and all the days in between (whichever direction of "in between" you choose).

Too true, too true...
“With a stop light, green means 'go' and yellow means 'slow down'. With a banana, however, it is quite the opposite. Yellow means 'go', green means 'whoa, slow down', and red means 'where the heck did you get that banana?'” - Mitch Hedberg

- Frances: Do traffic lights mean anything around here?
- Marcello: Yeah, sure. Green light — avanti, avanti. Yellow light — decoration.
- Frances: What about red light?
- Marcello: Just a suggestion.
