A Lanthian library perhaps?

Hello Dave My name is HAL.
Wrong movie guys.
I think they found the memory core, but of what? Gotta be connected to the crystal hidden in Suzi's cleavage.

If offered a blue or red pill which one should they take? This is another option for where they are.

Data crystals x hundreds of thousands? Yeah, that is some serious memory capacity.

Ummm. Wow. Powerful recent experience just popped up... serious chills.
I'm flashing on the memory of my recent visit to the Hall of Names at Yad Vashem - the Holocaust Museum in Israel. It's a large circular room, lined with storage compartments, in which are written down the names of the many millions of victims of the Nazi slaughter. Jews, Gypsies, gays, intellectuals, communists, political enemies...
Many names are missing... whole villages were exterminated to the last man, woman, and child, and the records destroyed. The keepers of the Hall continue to gather names from old newspapers, diaries, personal journals, letters... whatever people can contribute, so that those who were lost are not forgotten.
I have a feeling that this room may serve a similar function... and perhaps for much, much more than just the names of the lost. Atsali spoke of "helping out the lost folks". If those crystals are the equivalent of intact transporter buffers...
(Riker) "Can a man survive inside a transporter buffer for 75 years?"
(LaForge) "I know a way to find out..." ##chhhrrrRRRRRrrrrrr##

I can understand why the Library wants to know about this place. Now, is the Crystal Library sentient like the Library we all know and love? Someone (or some thing) turned on the lights. Was that as simple as a motion detector? Or did the Crystal Library do it for their convenience?
No trees were harmed in sending this message, however, a large number of electrons were seriously inconvenienced

Nice little touch - Katharine's hand on Atsali's shoulder.
When Katharine gets back home - i wonder if the Museum needs an intern?

Or a Google server farm.
You should be reading the Wapsi Square Wiki.

Any moment now, they'll encounter a very old man wearing ancient armor. He will show them to a table of various objects and ask them to choose wisely.

Ah! They found the Lanthian Steam-server.. .. .. .. Or HAL.
Now what? Check it for cool Lanthian games? (I would) "Would You like to play a game?" Seems to be right up the Lanthian alley, given their affection for world-destroying tech...
It's not even far fetched that this is pure data-storage.

Your thought mirrors mine in the direction this seems to be going. Let's hope their system is more stable than Scotty's thrown together one, he had a 50% failure rate.

Re: Crystal Things 2013-5-8
Heh.. y'all forgot about the precursor to "The Matrix"... how about TRON!...it fit's much better with people out in the "real world" getting transported "into" a computer generated reality, since I also think that both Kat and Atsali are INSIDE that crystal that is now down Suzie's bra...
I'm curious though, if the light and their ability to continue to be active while inside the crystal itself, is powered by the rest of the Stargate circuitry where Lily found it... what happens now? I mean how long do the girls have until the stored power runs out and they shut down now that Lily took it out of its socket in the wall / Stargate? do they disappear because they weren't saved to disk (those crystal cylinders) or will they be OK, and just "turn off", with the next time the crystal is plugged in again, they just "reboot" like nothing ever happened at all? or do they get shunted back out into the real world again... kinda like the girl in the video for "take on me" by Aha! THAT'LL be hilarious to have Suzie and Lily getting more and more annoyed that they can't find the girls, and then as they give up, and are walking away in disgust... POOF! Suzie's shirt rips open with Kat and Atsali busting out of her bra and falling to the floor!... awesome!... too bad I'm just guessing...

You are about to get your astral kicked and handed to you. (Sounds of mob approaching faintly in the distance.)NOTDilbert wrote:"This is the Astral Plane, and these are the Akashic Records," I said confidently while donning my riot gear in anticipation of the shower of stones....
The astral is a non-material plane, this is very real. It is also too small to be the Akashic record.
Better bet this is the afterlife the Temple of the Jaguar is supposed to communicate with. If each cylinder is the memory storage, and genetic code, of the Anasazi then their spirits could be communicated with. The mica composition around the Jaguar temples become the medium this information is accessed. This may be where Monica is called into communicate with the memories of those who died and left their records.
PS: If I'm right about this one I deserve more than a cookie.

It sorta looks like the interior of the mother ship from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Or the casino deck of a Princess Cruise Ship.

Looks like our favorite Library may be in for a little upgrade when this adventure is finished . She always did need an electronic data section after all.
This message is brought to you by the "Let the artist know how much you LOVE his work" council.
Re: Crystal Things 2013-5-8
The library wants the information in the storage but MIB and others want to keep it away from the library. This is looking like the library is pulling strings to get what it wants. Anything is a side issue.Mark N wrote:Looks like our favorite Library may be in for a little upgrade when this adventure is finished . She always did need an electronic data section after all.
This will not be an upgrade for the library. It has all the storage it needs. New books are created all the time so it must constantly be growing. As space is needed it is created. Being in a separate universe it don't need no stinking electronic storage.

Crystals? First thing that came to my mind is Kryptonian technology, as seen in "Superman: The Movie" and "Smallville."
