Hmmm. Strange sort of religious veneration these two have just taken up!

EDIT: so... questions, questions. Are they at Mapimi, or Mesa Verde, or Elsehere? What's making the light? Who or what turned it on? Just what have Katherine and Atsali just seen, which is so jaw-droppingly amazing? Why would a vampire bother to carry a lighter with no fuel, and does said vampire prefer menthol cigarettes, regular, or reefer?

Maybe they wound up at Devils Tower, and that's the Mothership....or A mothership.

She's never seen a toilet that big before. Movement triggered the light sensor.

Anything that would make little Atsali swear like that has got to be pretty otherworldly...

So? You think the found the Wizard?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

You know that light at the end of the tunnel?

"I found the floor"

Either Atsali is being a smartass, or the area has some weird properties, like no gravity. (In which case, how does Atsali know it is the floor?)

It can't be that dangerous or Kath's response would have been "RUN!!!" Not a long, drawn out "Ho-lee-crap!" Still, where did the light come from? And one has to wonder if Atsali has seen Gremlins... hehe

Just when did Kathryn acquire the lighter?

Is this another of her hidden talents (pickpocket) appearing?

And when is (presumably Lily) going to realize it is missing?

For a long shot guess they could be at Red Rock, and the stage lights just came on, and she's standing there holding a lighter up in her hand.

Whatever it is it has to be Holy! Either scary or wholly impressive.

Kathy: That's gotta be the biggest one I've ever seen!
Sali: I don't know. I've never seen one before. Is that what it looks like.
Kathy: I've seen ancient drawings suggesting this but they don't even come close.
Sali: I haven't even seen pictures. They won't let me into that section of the library.
Kathy: I am not surprised by that. You're dangerous enough as it is.
Sali: Hey! I'M sixteen. Not a child you know.

Well, she wanted an Adventure.

This seems like the first part of the Adventure that involves finding something new and important, which does not also (yet) involve massive contusions, immediate threat of dismemberment or death, and/or serious pain. And, maybe, she's possibly experiencing that wonderful sensation of Mental Lightbulbs Going On With A Silent Click.

... or Atsali was flying. (Instinctively?)

Nah, she's a smartass. 8-)

Lighter, now. Considering Lily was suspended over a deep fall, I don't think Kath could have pickpocketed that one ...

I'd say either Atsali was the one who obtained the vampire's lighter (from the chopper, perhaps?), or the lighter is part of the cell phone. Fancy!

... hang on, how did they light the misfortunate lamp in the mine? (Let's light it.) Did their own lighter spill during the stunts?

I've had a Zippo go dry in my pocket; it's not all that rare. But she gets bonus points for carrying a serious lighter not a cheap disposable. (Me, I don't smoke; if I need fire it'll be from the cheap crap lighter.)

Interesting that Katharine seems to be able to identify a vampire by sight - i don't recall Lily saying she was one...

Son of a Bitch!

Is my (non-directed) response to being teased in such a manner, on a Tuesday, especially after doing two months of catch up? Point is, Damn It!

Atsali said Lily was a vampire when Senior Director O made her "One of two last living Anasazi" comment. The Winged One may be able to pick these things up, being somewhat paranormal herself. And Kath just accepts her 'partner' knows what she's talking about.

I'm a bit confused about the lighter, though. Maybe Lily handed it over when she gave Kath her phone, as an additional light source. I'd have thought, since the lighter gave out, they'd have tried lighting up the cellphone and seeing what they could see then.
