Now who is the surprise visitor behind door number one?
Looks like using the constellations to establish a three dimensional grid is how the destinations are selected. That kinda does sound like the stargate don't it. Or at least the method for steering it.

Of course not. My vote is Phix. Others will pick Brandi. The long odds are on Nudge and Bia. The dark house is Sali's Mom.Dave wrote:Oh, do ya know?zachariah wrote:Now who is the surprise visitor behind door number one?

Probably use them still in the library. Remember the library is not digital.RunningBull wrote:Yeah she probably saw one in history class!!bdgoodfriend wrote:A fifteen yr old knows from slide rules? (I haven't seen one in 20yrs)

Possibly....
Secrets are being kept from the Library for safety's sake. We have seen no evidence that ANY of the info in the Library is in any way restricted from ANYBODY who knows enough to ask the right questions. Nuke plans on the Internet are friggen' cookie recipes compared to what must be there....

Okay, I did NOT see that coming! Anyone Atsali's claimed age is too young to know about slide rules except as historical artifacts, and most teenagers have never even seen one in use. So...what's this, young lady?

Okay, now I want to see a Lanthian slide rule...with a thick sheet of Lexan(R) between me and it, preferably.

All that is missing is for Sali to tell Kath "Look behind you".

Why are secrets being kept from the Library?
Because there some things that are better left forgotten. Turn over enough rocks, and you' re eventually going to find the one with a scorpion under it.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Why couldn't it be the Jaguar Girl?
Re: Human Slide Rule 2013-04-19
I dunno, if I was Kath I'd be more like "AAAAAAAAAUGH!"
Re: Human Slide Rule 2013-04-19
Monica hasn't had that much experience with the library to know that things should be kept from it. For someone to know about that they have to realize that some things should not be open source, which the library is. ANy one with access can read any of the books.cmdrpowers wrote:Why couldn't it be the Jaguar Girl?
