We knew they had to end up there eventually. I guess another transit is in order.
What's up with the Stan? Making rhyming games at this point is kinda silly. But it is Sali after all.

Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

Did either of them bring any Lanthian subway tokens?

Am I the only one who wants to kiss Katherine's forehead to make it feel better?

Katherine has got to be on one helluva buzz right now, what with everything going on, the discoveries, and revelations and what not. It's probably such a monstrous high that she's probably not feeling much pain from her injuries.
The crash may very well kill her when the high wears off.
Hopefully Katherine will find the answers she looking for before that happens.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

i'm really starting to get interested in why she is so keen to shake the chaperone.....
Re: Going to Mapimi 2013-04-18
But does she at this time know for sure that the chaperone doesn't want to execute or incapacitate her?Ohnhai wrote:i'm really starting to get interested in why she is so keen to shake the chaperone.....
Re: Going to Mapimi 2013-04-18
LOL at both... I dont think atsali even thinks about it, she is too locked up in her geek frenzy for adventure!! ...Haylo wrote:But does she at this time know for sure that the chaperone doesn't want to execute or incapacitate her?Ohnhai wrote:i'm really starting to get interested in why she is so keen to shake the chaperone.....
as for kath, the thrill is carrying her along far enough, she is healing up ok... I am sure at the end of this she will say "urgh, thats enough adventure! never again!!" and sleep for week...

Re: Going to Mapimi 2013-04-18
I just had to look up Akashic records on Wikipedia to better understand whats happening here. First thing I found out was Phil Spector never worked for them. (*clink* pun jar) Second, I'm wondering if Atsali isn't standing in front of a very large 'touch-tone' dialing system like in the "STARGATE" TV shows? All she has to do is set the co-ordinates and they can "Beam-Out" at any time and YES I know that last bit was a Star Trek reference.
Re: Going to Mapimi 2013-04-18
She called them suits earlier using a tone of disgust. After her previous experience she would not want to get hooked up with suits ever again. So by keeping ahead, and away, from them she can do her thing without interference. Beside Lily pissed her off messing up her dig.Haylo wrote:But does she at this time know for sure that the chaperone doesn't want to execute or incapacitate her?Ohnhai wrote:i'm really starting to get interested in why she is so keen to shake the chaperone.....

Ya'll must have a much better grasp than me of what's going on in today' strip. I felt as though I missed a transition strip to help explain just what Kath and Atsili are talking about.
Is there a confusion room we can hang out in? I think the couch is getting full...
However, I do agree that what Atsili is looking at could be a universal touch tone dialing pad. Looks like something Dr. Who would use too to place long distance phone calls or Stargate. hehe. *Drops a bow tie in the pun jar because Bow Ties are cool*
PLus Kath still has that phone and that means if its in an area with cell towers, it can be pinged and then their location triangulated, no matter where they try to hide.
Right?

Akashic records and quantum theory... very interesting, in a couple of ways!
For one thing, this discussion seems to confirm that Atsali knows a lot more than the average teenager would... I get the feeling her "bookish" interests don't stop at classic adventure stories! We've already seen indications that she's "rich on theory and shy on practice", perhaps in part as a result of being an orphan... maybe she compensated for the lack of a family environment by diving deep into a search for knowledge, practical or otherwise? Quite the little book-nerd, is our little irrepressible chatterbox!
And the specifics of stargates... also very interesting. It's been decades since I read about Theosophy back in college, but the Wikipedia article confirms what I recall. The Akashic record is supposed to be a massive memory of everything has occurred, imprinted into the very "aether" (the fabric of space-time itself, in effect) that can be accessed and viewed in some fashion. In Theosophical thinking, it plays a part in how one is evaluated and judged after death, I believe... the "your whole life flashes across your eyes as you die" experience is supposed to be a replaying of your personal slice of the records, so you can truly see what you have done in your life and how it affected other people.
So... in this Wapsi context, what Atsali seems to be saying is that stargates don't involve the warping of space ("stitching" two separate places together via a shortcut path in space-time). Rather, they may operate by "unwriting" the information which encodes your mass/energy/existence from one point in space-time, and "rewriting" you back into existence at another point... in effect, updating the Akashic record of your existence. The Universe "forgets about you" in one place and begins "remembering you" in another place. How the information is transferred from one place to another seems to be a quantum mechanical effect... I'd guess using the phenomenon known as "entanglement" (a.k.a. "spooky action at a distance"). Entanglement is very real, and the effects can be utilized across great distances. Measuring one entangled particle affects the other one in the pair instantaneously, regardless of distance... but for quantum reasons it seems to be impossible to use this to actually convey any information faster than the speed of light, alas. I keep hoping somebody will find a tricky way around this limitation... it would be worldshaking if ever accomplished!
If I've got that anywhere near right... Paul, you continue to amaze me... a very clever and inventive synthesis of ideas!

Very nice to see the explorer girls - I was starting to get a little "Vamp'd" out. And yes - the more she talks the greater extent of her brain power she is exposing. Too me this confirms that Brandi was instrumental in setting up the original meeting of the two girls. Kath seems to have accepted her as an equal and seems to have written of the "ditsy" start to young enthusiasm .

Well, if they're going to Mapimi that wouldn't be a problem...it's got to be called the Mapimi Dead Zone for a reason.Kingmaker wrote:PLus Kath still has that phone and that means if its in an area with cell towers, it can be pinged and then their location triangulated, no matter where they try to hide.
