Nice to see there's a directory to let patrons look up these things. It looks like some kind of schematic diagram, rather than a map of the Library; I'm guessing she called up an exit listing of some kind.

Also, she's a strong kid.

The sly look on her face in the first panel is hilarious contrasted with Kath's resigned look.

Edit: Urk - panel one and two - no stubby little wings.

OK, folks, it's Adjective Time!

I offer "headstrong" and "impetuous" with possibly a dash of "reckless" for extra pizzaz.

Can anyone suggest a one-word term for "doesn't bother to listen very well"?

This may all add up to "sirenian"... if this is how Atsali's people usually behave I can see how they got their reputation. Not necessarily malice... just too much energy and enthusiasm.

I like the Siren. Whenever I'm driving someplace with one of my sisters, the first thing I do is yell, "Adventure!" before pressing down on the gas to zoom off... then letting up before a cop stops me, but it's enough to shake her up.

I think if our little Siren ran into The Doctor, she'd be let off at the next nearest Dalek-infested planet by the TARDIS.

I think this falls squarely into the definition of "Be careful what you wish for." Poor Kat! :)

Also, I think that today's page begs to be spoofed.

Atsali is a bit like Mr Kornada from Freefall, just not as obviously malicious.

Oh, I do like that! It's one I hadn't heard or read in so long I had forgotten that it exists. It really does sum up what we've seen of Atsali so far.

It's concerning, though, as its root meaning involves steepness, heights, and the act of dropping things or falling from such heights. For Atsali to have a tendency to drop things from a great height would not be comforting news to Katherine right about now, and she looks like she needs comforting pretty badly.

She appears to be concerned that she's about to end up as part of somebody's cauldron of Egg Drop Soup. This was surely not how she expected a quiet visit to a library's reference section to work out.
