Nah. Given the growling and such, i figure it's the "Jaguar" part of "Jaguar Girl" making itself known.Julie wrote:Also, I'm looking forward to learning what the "hard to concentrate" bit means considering M didn't have this much trouble with Shelly and Bud. Wait, are the old comments back or not? A quick spot check shows me the ability to comment on old strips, but not the comments made in the past. (I see it's a little trickier to navigate by date, but that's okay.) It could be I've just gotten unlucky, but it looks as if the comment history is lost.
Which is okay, but I admit it would be nice to still have the old commentary.
Oh, okay. I hope the old stuff is archived somewhere, even if we can't see it now. We had occasional comments left long after the fact under the old system, but I don't know if the same will happen with this.

Well, the old stuff is definitely still out there in the ComicPress site database... as I mentioned earlier, I was able to see and grab one day's worth of the old comments before the new Facebook-based revision to the site took full effect.Wyvern wrote:Wapsi wrote:You can comment again, but the old comments don't show up. Paul - is there any chance that the old comments could be resurrected in read-only form, for the dates prior to the comment-section shutdown last spring? I don't know if it'd be feasible to have both the old comments and a newer Facebook comment section on the same page, though.
Maybe for these older pages, having the (extensive) older discussions would be more valuable to new readers than the ability to add an occasional new comment? Or, perhaps, the old comments could be attached after the new Facebook commentary area?
For current pages, of course, this doesn't apply, and the Facebook-based solution is a reasonable one. I don't plan to use it myself (I have many of the same concerns about Facebook that other forum posters have indicated) but there are clearly a bunch of people who will prefer it to the Forum. I was glad to see a comment from Joe Minotaur pop up, first thing - I was wondering if something bad had happened to him, since he's never commented in the Forum.
In any case - thanks for continuing to make it possible for us crazies out here to discuss Wapsi!

Oh, it's certainly Jaguar coming out, but consider: if M's body is restored to what she was when the Key was inserted, then this jungly aspect was at the Ritual, too.Fairportfan wrote:Nah. But the Ritual took place years before it was "supposed" to. It was "supposed" to happen only a month ago.
And yes, I think Brandi has been very involved in keeping the truth of M's resurrective capacities from Phix, multiple times over.

Yay! ("And there was much rejoicing.") If it's practical to do so, yes; tacking on the old comments in some read-only form would be great. We don't need to add anything to them directly, and the Facebook system allows for any new comments - if they're incompatible, mark me down as preferring the read-only discussion archive. The old debates would be really useful for archive binges and looking over our collective response-in-progress.
I've never been under the hood of the Wapsi Square website in any of its incarnations, so I can't speak to how practical doing this might be.
