Got Lucky 2020-12-17

Makes you wonder how many of Castela's friends are afraid of her, to some degree... (Well, not so much afraid of her, as much as afraid of the potential for things to go kablouie if things get pear shaped...)

Walnut Kifli?

Sounds ... interesting.

Sounds Hungarian, according to a quick search. I'm pretty sure I've had these more than once, and some times it's been a cousin to a (many-layered pastry w/ chopped nut (pistachio?) filling and honey glaze from the Middle East whose name I can't recall at the moment...).

Sounds interesting, and yummy.

You know, kids, when A makes something for B to give to C, A really should tell B what it is - and, if it's edible, provide a sample (and appropriate time for B to eat the sample).

That's the one. Although one is multilayer and very crispy and drenched in a honey-glaze and the other is more like a walnut-filled pig-in-a-blanket cookie, there are similarities...

I recently had baklava for the first time, at a greek restaurant . . . the portion size was just about perfect, since that last bite was rather suddenly enough.

And I have been known to eat pecan pie . . . a la mode.

Of drink, and victuals, and suchlike stuff
a bit too little
is just enough.
