Pareidolia is the effort by our brains to find patterns where none exist. Thus we see faces and shapes in clouds because we're wired to recognize faces and shapes. Now flip that to where it's mandatory, and you're now beholden to whatever existing order or pattern which doesn't extend far enough to serve your needs!
