I was totally wrong! I thought that was Tsillah with her hand on Monica's ear... but I think it's good that she's got a couple of people getting up in her face right about now.

I know right?? That means Nudge.Fairportfan wrote:"Capable uv killn' demi-gods."
Ruh-roh, Raggy.
But honestly, like I've said before, Nudge has been around a LOOOOONG time, trolling tons of beings just as powerful as Monica, if not more so.
And as Euryale would probably say, this ain't Nudge's first rodeo. She's smarter than to smack the metaphorical hornet's nest if she didn't have a plan to escape or survive it.

Side note: I'm still pissed at you Monica, so I shouldn't be giving you advice, but QUIT LOOKING INTO EURYALE'S EYES!!
I know you're thick, but you should KNOW better!!

Wow. OK.
So, Mon is indeed capable of killing a semi-divine being. Which Nudge happens to be.
Now, the $64,000 Question: Did Nudge survive her dip into what appeared to be Mount Doom?

AAAaaaand here's Monica's wake up call in the form of one very upset Miss Euryale.
Now to find out if Monica has actually succeeded in killing a Demigod.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Like I said the other day, if she killed Nudge she can go to the realm of the dead and get her back. Maybe.

Well, she should be able to if Nudge doesn't eat anything...

Hmmm. So, she may have been in some sort of altered state when angry. And, when she was angry at Bud and Shelly for risking her life, she was "speaking in grey" which usually means "somebody other than the primary character is talking."
Actual possession by another entity (demon or otherwise)? A psychological fugue state, or an "alter" (secondary peronality) coming to the surface? Some direct side effect of the Phoenix blood... like a "roid rage" kicking in?
Anyhow... from the look on Monica's face, it's just as Zelazny wrote in Lord of Light... "And then, the fit hit the Shan."
This is not going to be fun.

The Wapsi Gang in the Realm of the Dead to rescue Nudge would make an awesome story arc....

The only way to find out is to retrieve the body. Lake of lava -- no problem, have Bud and Brandy handle it. All Monica has to do is send them ... where?Stigmartyr762 wrote:AAAaaaand here's Monica's wake up call in the form of one very upset Miss Euryale.

Unfortunately it was a dream for Monica. Oh well, there are some clues so you can probably figure out with some research in the library where to to send the girls, Monica is good at that.
Opps … Phix is in the library. Did Nudge actually tell her Monica is dead (not likely)? How do you explain to Phix that you sent the coworker she just discovered she cares about to Hell? Going to need some fast talking here Monica, probably with her back to a wall addressing an very large and extremely angry Phix at a range measured in single digit inches.
p.s. If Phix starts asking riddles it means she is seeking an excuse to destroy you in compliance with the sphinx rules. Talk really fast.

I guess it will depend on what mythology or storyline Paul follows. In some, immortal beings have no soul. It's the tradeoff for immortality. That means when they are gone, they are really gone. It's over. No afterlife, no nothing. They cease to exist.NOTDilbert wrote:Like I said the other day, if she killed Nudge she can go to the realm of the dead and get her back. Maybe.

Wapsi Alighieri's The Semi-Divine Comedy? Sounds like some good post-modern literature to me!NOTDilbert wrote:The Wapsi Gang in the Realm of the Dead to rescue Nudge would make an awesome story arc....
