I don't think we've ever seen Daylla surprised like this...at least not in this universe.

Good to see that our favorite clever-boots can be floored as well.

Distinctly awkward, especially considering that Daylla owed Shawna some serious thanks for helping out during the Great Accidental Step Sideways Into The Universe Next Door sleepover.

I just love that nickname she's given Castela, Poppyseed is just adorable.

That does bring up an interesting possibility for the relation between Daylla and Castela. Ever had a friend who dates around and keeps running back to you to heal their emotional wounds and shattered ego once they inevitably get dumped, relying on the fact that they KNOW you'll always be there for them no matter what, always waiting to pick them up and ready them for the next doomed relationship? I'm starting to see hints of that here.

Not saying it's as bad as codependency, but:

A: A toilet doesn't follow you around while you're not using it.

I hope Daylla does not suddenly feel like a third wheel now, and this causes her and Pickle to drift apart. It is nice to Cass and Shawna together, but that should not mean that Cass and Daylla cannot still be friends. Those two have been together since Kindergarten, and it would be sad to see it end, like this.

Especially if we see Daylla kicking herself for "letting it happen" as a result of her worst-best-friend disappearance so she could hang with Mohan so much. Nature abhors a vacuum, and Daylla may feel that her absence "left space" for Castela to bond with someone else.

On the other hand, I can think of few characters better suited to play the role of "third wheel" than Daylla. She could even include the sub-role of "chrome-moly hubcap" while she's at it.

Cass & D. need a Comic Book/Manga Day, and/or a whirl through any upcoming Anime Conventions...

Or maybe just park under a tree and hang out.
