They have been living together for years. It was implied during the antique shop scene, but this is the first time actual domesticity shown in comic.

They're living together, and apparently "going Dutch" on the expenses and food shopping. Today's dessert is a good example: Georgette's custard cakes, and Monica's sake. Sounds yummy.

There was a single-panel comic showing them snuggled together on the couch in front of a fire...

Are you thinking of this one?

That was immediately after the traumatic "Monica goes inside Georgette's quantum realm" episode at Tina's, where each disclosed to the other that she had been raped during childhood. The implication was that it was the same evening, and that this was part of 'Jet's recovery from the trauma.

It wasn't until about a year later (our time) that 'Jet confronted Monica and persuaded her to break up with Kevin and pair up with ’Jet instead.

Was there another (later, and similar?) strip of the two of them on a couch that I'm not remembering?

Nope.

I was mis-remembering the timing.

I forgot about the tongue, and I'm sure I once thought that might be a perk in the relationship.
