Oh Lord, what's she mad about now? She's got the 'gunslinger' look in her eye again (to say nothing of her, uh, 'staff').

I'm not really sure these are Mon's original demons. Except possibly for the one who may be Doubt, they all look very different. Maybe when she got her "upgrade", they did too.

And why would a demon need a belly button?

That question has been discussed over at the ComfyCouch, regarding Drusilla the succubus in Pibgorn.

The final basic upshot over there was "Because the artist likes to draw her that way."

All in all, I'd rather have a couple of Cerebi...
On the plus side, Apache dancing!

this maybe a silly question, but what, if anything, can Monica's personal demons actually DO other than look spooky?

The vampirettes seem to have a good idea that they can do something. I suppose if you're already part of the demon realm, they can do plenty. Remains to be seen.

For one thing, they're better vampire-repellant than a crucifix made of garlic. ;) Otherwise, we haven't seem them "do" very much in the physical world. Maybe this week, we'll learn more.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one that had that song pop into my head upon seeing today's strip. LOL
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Actually that's a good point. Since the demons have been around for uncounted eons, who knows what they really look like. They may take on many of the characteristics of their host species, including details like, in our case, navels.

... and as she strode in uffish thought,
the Jaguar Girl, enwrapped in flame,
led demons through the city streets,
to further her new fame.

One! Two! One! Two! The demons drew
the eyes of those who'd call M back,
but Specs and Dread, their cause unpled,
fool-courage surely lacked...

(In simpler words, it looks to me more as if Monica is deep in somewhat troubled thought, rather than being angry. The implications of being virtually immortal, and clearly enmeshed in some scheme of Bia's that she doesn't really understand, seem to be weighing on her)

Oddly my first thought, which actually comes via GTA III:

Don't be mistaken by the first impression,
And watch out for that innocent expression,
(ooh ah!)
She's not what she seems,
(ooh ah!)
Don't wait for the dreams,
'cause when she breaks away she's a child,
and the woman is wild!
So wild!

She's on fire,
and she burns through the night at the speed of light,
She's on fire,
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet,
She's on fire,
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame,
She's on fire, fire, fire, fire, fire!

And so the dancing day is your decision,
But understand she's not quite like her vision,
(ooh ah!)
I'm warnin' ya now,
(ooh ah!)
You sure you know how,
'cause she can take your heart like a child,
and the woman is wild!
So wild!

She's on fire,
and she burns through the night at the speed of light,
She's on fire,
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet,
She's on fire,
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame,
She's on fire, fire, fire, fire, fire!

She's on fire,
and she burns through the night at the speed of light,
She's on fire,
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet,
She's on fire,
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame,
She's on fire, fire, fire, fire, fire!

(She's on fire)
She's on fire!
(and she's burning)
And she's burning!
(She's on fire)
She's on fire!
(and she's burning)
And she's burning!
(She's on fire)
She's on fire!
(and she's burning)
And she's burning!

This would have been amazing as a full color panal. Still great in gray scale but it could a been so much more.

Don't think M is upset. That's her normal look when she's walking and thinking and not paying attention to the outside world.
