I can understand needing another let's-give-the-shoulder-time-to-heal break, but...

What about Naomi???

How about we just meet out of in front of his house, all Pitchforky & Burning Torchy and duct-tape his sore arm to his rib cage, then duct tape the drawing pen into his non-dominant hand.... and see what develops.

(So simple, nobody ever asks me for advise anymore.)

Certainly! Rest in bed, drink plenty of fluids, and... No, wait, that's for colds. But have chicken soup anyway. It can't hurt.

(Ruri, not Jin. And for a former teapot, she doesn't seem too concerned about breaks.)

I think I get that reference.

(Googles)

Or maybe not. It turns out, there's a LOT of shows that used that, not just Carol Burnett. :o

First thing I thought was back to this strip, and I wondered to myself: "Is that Michelle Yeoh?"

Do you really want to see yourself publicly caricatured, in the way that you would be after Paul figured out that you instigated the mob?

I mean... you're walking down the street, a total stranger approaching on the sidewalk looks at you, does a double-take, and then turns red and bursts into uncontrollable giggles. Lather, rinse, repeat... for years.

It would get old after a while.

So, wait, is nobody going to question if Ruri should be skateboarding?

Why? Are you worried she'll go ass over tea kettles?

Well, after spending 100 years as a tea kettle, I’d want to get some fidgets outta my system, too.

The real question, in my mind, isn't whether she should be skateboarding... that's now moot.

The real question is, who or what is she looking down at, that's affected by (or creating) the mayhem located out of sight below the bottom of the panel? Did she just run over an endangered turtle, or collide with Atsali, or cleverly evade a ninja assassin who then ran into s brick wall, or perform a skillful leap over a cartoonist who is cursing his sore shoulder, or :?:

She fell off of her skateboard immediately. It was tragic.

It's a new way to make sure that the tea is well-stirred.

That line is familiar... Wasn't that used in the comic before?

The truth, of course, is that he didn't want to do a comic ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!!!

I think that’s actually a coincidence: he really did have a pain spike episode the other night.

I think she's doing one of those unbelievable moves master skateboarders do where they launch themselves in the air, separating from the skateboard which starts doing a roll; and if everything goes right they and the skateboard in an upright position make it to the other side of the jump in time so they all come together and no teeth are broken.

I think Ruri is smiling because it's looking like she's going to live through this...

Had to do the two-fer because today is his B-Day.

Rest and get well, and go easy on the Iowa bourbon.

Technically, there is no Iowa bourbon. "Bourbon" is a denomination of origin. By definition, it's distilled in Kentucky.

Maybe Iowa's just an offshoot of Kentucky!
