I'd not heard of a macaron, so assumed it was a misspelling or tyop of macaroon.

Still, Scarlet should have been informed beforehand, as a friendly "heads up," instead of hedging bets on her not manifesting this ability. Just because it skipped her mother was no guarantee it would skip her, as well.
