I can never tell for sure what makes the Wapsi characters blush. Embarrassment, sure. Attraction/lust, yeah. But sometimes they seem to blush for blushing's sake.
Re: Finding You 2017-09-22
Sometimes that isn't blushing, but rapid onset sunburn that heals just as rapidly as it occurs, because most of those characters are paranormal folks who tend to be much more durable than us, and usually recover much faster.
Although, I do keep "remembering" someone wearing a cast or a brace for a short while, despite not really remembering anything of the sort...

Tina. She injured herself while parallel parking. (Don't ask.)

Oh! That sounds vaguely familiar. Not ringing any bells, but certainly a triangle.
How long did she have the cast/brace?

A Bad Feeling 2010-06-30
Monica and Bud are startled by the Dia de los Muertos figure in the basement of Mucho Mocha, causing Tina to self-inflict a broken forearm. Cast is applied the next day, and the paralell parking incident is referenced the day after.

These two are doing well together. Atsali may not be able to read facial expressions, and she may be a major nerd, but she doesn't lack all social skills or compassion.

The human blush is the result of conflicting emotions- easily explained in this instance of someone embarrassed by how simple the solution to an issue can be. It as a phenomena is more prevalent in the female of the species-Thor wrote:I can never tell for sure what makes the Wapsi characters blush. Embarrassment, sure. Attraction/lust, yeah. It's becoming more and more clear to me that we got to see Kath and Nadette visit Atsali at the start of this arc so that Skylar got a clear view that Atsali has a girlfriend and any attempt she may deploy to try and seduce her would inevitably involve breaking up a very loving and devoted relationship. This opens up the possibility for Skylar to explore what it means to be a succubus and whether her species dictates whether her love life gets directed by her predatory background or not.
I'm expecting that she will be tempted to go the evil way and will have to fight off her inner devil.

Skylar could also be blushing because she's remembering her mother's other comments at the time.

I read the blushing as being embarrassed at feeling aimless (no idea what she wants to do, her mom doing the legwork for her to get in college), and not up to par for college work (lack of study or note taking skills).
Third panel, just remaining embarrassment.
And like Sgt. Howard said, embarrassment as seeing how simple the solution could be...

That has been a recurring problem in our family - I never finished college in part because of it, and the same for our granddaughter. Thing is, we were never really challenged in high school - we didn't need to take notes or study.and not up to par for college work (lack of study or note taking skills)

Atsali is being wise here instead of wise-ass.

Although I did take notes, I was also not very challenged in High School... even the advanced classes were not much of a challenge. So I underestimated what college would be like... So when the situation at home became more unpleasant (nothing bad, don't worry), I retreated into the library a lot, to read French/Belgian comic books (think Tintin, Asterix, Spirou, Lucky Luke, Achile Talon, Gaston Lagaffe, etc.), instead of spending more time on studying. I ended up failing one class, much to my surprise...Warrl wrote:That has been a recurring problem in our family - I never finished college in part because of it, and the same for our granddaughter.
