I wonder if she remembers she's a nearly indestructible super-weapon? Nope!

Could be an expensive (and undesirably spectacular) way to deal with mice...

So what is the over/under on the number of new "doors and windows"?

I can sympathize with the Pickle on this one. First time i saw The Exorcist on the big screen i was jumpy for weeks. In my defense i was a teen at the time.

First time I saw The Exorcist... No, wait: I never saw The Exorcist, because I don't bother with that kind of movies... :P

Hah!, me too. I've since gotten away from scary movies, esp the slasher genre. (I pretty much quit after 'Halloween', a Classic...).

That said, we all know who just made That Noise...

*DinkInky*, natch.

Jaws counts as a horror movie??? I might have said "thriller", but not horror...

When you're eight, the sight of a huge great white shark jumping out of the water is pretty darn scary.

Or, I suspect, of a loose head tumbling out of a wrecked boat.

I don't recall ever finding the "horror" part of any horror movie anything but boring.

Good thing this takes place in Minnesota instead of Illinois. In Illinois, leaving a child under the age of 14 home alone is a crime.

Specifically:
Illinois law defines a neglected minor, in part, as "any minor under the age of 14 years whose parent or other person responsible for the minor's welfare leaves the minor without supervision for an unreasonable period of time without regard for the mental or physical health, safety or welfare of that minor."
Juvenile Court Act, 705 ILCS 405/2-3(1)(d)

Do they define "unreasonable period of time"?

For a 12-year-old with a phone and a parent's number, whether I would consider overnight unreasonable would very much depend on the kid in question.

Besides, it seems there has been a miscommunication. According to the tag on the previous page, Mom and her S.O the school principal are elsewhere in the same building. Castela thinks they are elsewhere. And the noise that startled her... might be them.

edit: corrected "previous home".

Yeah, vaporizing the principal does not look good on the permanent record.

That's exactly why Bryn and those like her are under strict orders to stay out of the school's chem lab. Some para students are extremely literal-minded and simply aren't aware that the phrase "distillation of knowledge" is just a metaphor.

... and then Pablo goes and schedules a Monday pin-up, leaving us hanging from a cliff for an extra day.

I could swear I hear him all the way from the left coast.
