Oh, super gift, Shelley!

What's Pickle supposed to do with an old jacket that has 80000 years of sphinx stinks in it?

I imagine the jacket has been cleaned, and Shelly wasn't wearing anything when she returned from the Time Forest.

No jacket, but here's a more recent pic of older Castela. Imagine this one with the jacket on.

That expression doesn't invoke just one G. I think she just woke up every deity in every pantheon recognized by humanity in the last 20,000 years.

If she lets out a SQUEEE!!!! when her vocal cords (or equivalent) start working again, they'll hear it out past Makemake.

The reason i pointed it out was as evidence that Paul plans years in advance, on some things at least.

Weird - what happened to my image in your post? the file name it used is completely different from mine, which is posted on my own web-hosting space...

I deleted a chunk of the website address so the image wouldn't show up. So my post wouldn't be unnecessarily long. Especially when the arts in the post right above mine. :3

They say in space no one can hear you scream, a squee from her may invalidate that statement.

I've got that pic around here somewhere... I think Pablo might still have it floating around on his FB page.

But yeah - that's where she got the jacket. Nice.

A matter of personal style/preference - when i do something like that, i replace the image link with something like

Code: Select all

A squee is not a scream.

Sometimes, hand-me-down is just the right thing.

Other times, not so much.

Does anyone else mentally frown at the idea of Castela using tobacco products?

Also... Do you think adult Castela will make regular visits to Punk Yoga?
There is no such thing as a science experiment gone wrong.

Hmmm. I don't think she has lungs.

Do we know if she's even smoking that cigar? She might be using it as personal protection: nicotine in various forms (extract, "tea", etc.) has been used as an insecticide to protect food plants for a long time.

Blackthorn hybrids probably don't get zits when they hit puberty (no skin!)... but they might get aphids. A cigar might be Castela's equivalent to a bottle of Clearasil.

I would frown at smoking in my vicinity in real life, regardless of who they are.

But for fictional characters who are basically immortal? I'm willing to cut a little slack.

Besides, as I have said before in these forums, a cigar is not functionally equivalent to a cigarette (save for a few hard-core smokers).

I'm with Thor. I do not know of anyone who chain-smokes good cigars. Some use the thing as an affectation. Those who do light up tend to savor the leaf's aromatic properties.

Now, those cheap dinky stinky things... that's a different story/

I recall a past comment about Lily's habit being tolerated as she is not of the living.

Disclaimer: lifelong non-smoker here, but I do not approve of depriving others of their pleasures, even if it is killing them.

That's the function of nicotine in the tobacco plant: poison the nibblers.

Also of a number of other biochemical compounds, such as caffeine.
