That, or she hasn't had time to assimilate the art of pranks...

By the way, there are no islands (isles) in grocery stores... Only aisles...

And Digit just taught Monica an important lesson . . .

Yours don't have them? The ones I go to do . . .

. . .

Aisles so short the shelves are square, or with the corners clipped to make them octagonal . . .

Well, if Monica is going to be learning to act as a better person, I suppose that living with somebody this open and straight-forward is the way to do it.

Now, just what lessons are Digit going to be learning from Monica? The possibilities are. . .interesting.

The smaller isolated displays, which are often found in produce sections, are often called either "floor displays" or "islands".

In this particular case, of course, Paul has admitted that he meant "aisles", but we can still pretend otherwise!

There are also lumber stores to consider. They have both aisles of longer pieces of wood (construction brand, furring strips, studs, sheet plywood, etc.) and smaller isolated displays of specialty woods (oak, teak, cherry, and exotics like zebrawood).

Monica might just have been confusing her memory of Shelly in the produce section, with the time she took Georgette down to the lumber store to see the isle of yew.

Or the prehung windows in the aisle of view.

Or the mythic-being statuary in the decor section, which is right in the middle of the store - it's the centaur aisle.

Dave, this has to be one of the worst ill-timed puns I've ever seen. Less than a half-hour after you posted this, news broke that J. Geils of 1980s J. Geils Band found dead in his Groton, Mass. home.

Owww. :(

Well, I pun so often that it's statistically inevitable that occasionally I'll drill for oil and hit a pressurized sewage line... but it still sucks when it happens. This one is definitely my worst timing ever.

I hate losing musicians. Seems as if we've lost far too many during the past year or two... and the world becomes poorer each time.

I hear you, brother! We've lost a lot of fine artisans in the last 16 months. All the more reason to treasure those still with us... great way to do that is get out and support local musicians whatever the venue.

My wife and I just went to see Graham Nash, week before last, backed by Shane Fontayne... very glad to have had the chance to see two such great musicians.
