I like the way Digit's first balloon points to her nose...

Has he? Has he, indeed?

I suspect that part of the fall out from this will be the immediate re-imbiggening of the pup. Or, an attempt, at least.

Such an attempt would be entirely cromulent!

Remember what happened when the priests tried to lift the curse on Typhan-Knee.

I would like to point out that I specified "without magic being involved".
Magic is clearly involved.

Also, I'd wager she made her noises via her nostrils as she was used to pushing air through her spiacles to make noise as a spider through her trachea and air sac openings. I wonder how she's adapting to the switch between book lungs and mammalian lungs.

True... but Typhan-Knee is human. Curses against humans tend to hang on, remaining active and vital for a long time.

Curses and charms on dogs don't usually last past their initial action. That's especially true of curses applied to small, super-intelligent dogs. As one such dog said to his nemesis, "Curse you read, barren!"

(with slight apologies to Spider Robinson from who the joke is stolen, and with the offer of a generous bowlful of premium kibble to the Pun Jar)
