And now Lit's song, "My Own Worst Enemy" suddenly comes to mind.

I want a do-over posting. I want a nice pin-up of Devyn eating cake.
Bring this one back on Monday, okay? Monday's shot anyway.

... and her memory persists in reminding her that he really did want to hang with her ... that he did think she was worth it ...
... and that surely make her self-recriminations all the more biting.
On reflection, I suppose that her situation isn't actually all that bad, relatively speaking. Most tweens her age are unstable bombs.

And the tears in her clothes from the meltdown are back. Meaning at least part of her appearance is a glamour.

Story of my life, people believing in me more than I do in myself, and not noticing until they were gone.

Noting that Monica was getting into the cosplay scene. Aunt M to the rescue?

Or, was she using some of her tendrils to hold the torn clothing together from the inside?Opus the Poet wrote:And the tears in her clothes from the meltdown are back. Meaning at least part of her appearance is a glamour.

Bud, get over there and start talking sense to your adopted niece before she tears herself any further apart.
RE her clothes: In panel one they're torn, in panel two the hole in her sleeve at least is gone. Either artistic error or something weird is going on.

No, I think that they've been ongoing for quite a long while. Just look at that outburst just before Scarlet showed up. Perhaps the foundations of some of the emotional bulwarks she's built up to cope are now crumbling away.FreeFlier wrote:And now the self-image problems begin.
But then you'd soon move on to the inevitable heartbreak and agony and despair of no more cake!!! And heaven help us all if GLaDOS got involved. . .AnotherFairportfan wrote:I want a do-over posting. I want a nice pin-up of Devyn eating cake.

Poor kid.
Here's hoping Monday sees her getting a hand to help her up.

Or helping wing, or helping tentacle, or helping chelicera, or helping twig, or helping appendage. . .given that our story currently concerns paranormals at an anime convention, there's no telling what might be involved.Gyrrakavian wrote:Poor kid.
