Um, perhaps all that freezing and unfreezing has messed with the pick in her head?

Uh oh.

I do believe this is what is called a Rude Awakening for our 'little pocket elf'.

By the way, "Pocket Elf" is hilarious Paul.

Don't you just hate those mornings when you wake up ON FIRE!! And to top it off your eye lights are going full blast, running down your batteries.

The pocket elf looks like Clark Kent with night night terrors.

Yow. Yes, it does look as if those freeze-and-thaw cycles may possibly have Started Something. This might be very bad indeed, unless Monica's sheets are more fireproof than usual.

At least we know for certain that the Sage of the Forest isn't omniscient... unless perhaps she's using a version of "fine" which is rather different than the one most of us are familiar with.

I always knew Monica was hot in bed but this is ridiculous.

Cruising the DeNile all this time, and now she's running into the cataracts. What she's seen behind the curtain made a nest back in a dark, back corner of her mind, and now those critters are being noticed.

At a minimum, she's going to have to face, and explore, her own powers. The life unexamined, and all that!

In this case "fine" means "manifesting several energy phenomena such as lightning, fire, and light, while lying in a burning bed, yet nonetheless still alive."

Could be. As we saw in the incident with the hell-hounds, being blasted by fire isn't that big a deal to a sphinx. So, in sphinxy terms she may be fine.

Maybe a flash-back to the time she briefly died way back when? Suppressed memories coming back to haunt her? As we have also seen, what seems link an instant to us can be tens of thousands of years to another. Who knows what happened in that seemingly short period. Memories of hell? That or Shelly set the electric blanket too high.

On the outside Monica might look fine, but on the inside? .....yeah....she's gonna need some help coming to grips with things.

I'm sorta wondering whether some dissident demons (or other paranormal entities) might be trying to force open the Monica-gateway, which was closed by the key-stab-in-the-head during the CM confrontation. If (as Shelly recently pointed out) Monica is a jaguar girl, then being a portal/intermediary to the land(s) of the dead may be something that's inherent in her... possibly it cannot be shut down completely and for ever.
