That scenario might have played a little better if she hadn't done her previous little riff.

Devyn has a low tolerance for "wandering eye".

I'm pretty sure Jones has nothing to do with this.

I'd still wager this whole situation is a bit more complicated that what it seems on the surface.

Those it's pretty much always interesting to see writers mess around with gender roles and expectations.

Hell, it's the one thing that makes 'Hercules vs the Amazons' watchable.

Something else came to mind after an archive binge on another web comic with a much more "adult" (NSFW) theme. Devyn might be ace or demi. Either not interested, or sexually attracted to people for their minds (quicky definitions for ace and demi that leave a great deal out of it). That's why she has so little time for, shall we say, more visually oriented people.

I'm thinking this might lead to....

It's about teenagers . . . of course there's going to be drama. Nobody in the entire history of mankind has suffered as much as this one teenager is right now . . .




And young Mr. Peterson may just not trigger Devyn's particular preferences, or at least not as much as he triggers the other girls.

All ya all are totally missing the point and have forgotten that she is an Empath, she can't help but feel what was going on in the room and it seriously creeped her out.

As hard as it is for teenagers to go through puberty, I can't even imagine how hard it would be to sit through a class feeling everything that was going on--including the embarrassment of the teacher.

So there's that.

Just had a thought . . .could you even imagine how weird it would have been had she stopped using her Para power and let everyone experience what she was experiencing---probably be like that dream where everyone else is dressed except you . . . I'm guessing.

Apparently she's gotten better control, though, since she didn't lose it this time.

And I wonder what it would be like if she lost control when she was feeling the attraction herself.

Given her past demonstrations about people not being treated fairly, I would wager that this may fall under that same umbrella for Devyn. If it is wrong for one group to ogle someone, then it is wrong for everyone and that arguing exceptions to that is stupid to her.

The exception I'll grant for ogling people is if the person being ogled is explicitly courting that reaction.
