Something To Fall Back On
What happens in the lab needs to stay in the lab... because it's such a bloody drag to have to rebuild civilization all over again.
Re: Something To Fall Back On
A dirigible washer, or a washer of dirigibles?
Giving a less-than-respectful nickname to a young woman who has a hair-trigger reflex involving spinning high kicks to the jaw, seems like a poor way to spend the last few seconds of your lifeHanineal wrote:Maybe her nickname should be "Goodyear".

Oh, I'm sure she could make it last longer than that . . . or seem like it, anyway.Dave wrote:Giving a less-than-respectful nickname to a young woman who has a hair-trigger reflex involving spinning high kicks to the jaw, seems like a poor way to spend the last few seconds of your lifeHanineal wrote:Maybe her nickname should be "Goodyear".

Looks like there hasn't been any fall out from the Ughnog binge... yet.
As Doctor McCoy so eloquently put it in the Episode Mirror Mirror...
"It's worked so far, but we're not out yet."
*hears strains of "Pure Energy" playing...*

I thought blimps were the ones without rigid internal support and dirigibles had rigid internal supports. Cause I think Atsali is too young for implants and her "arrival" was about the same size she is now. http://wapsisquare.com/comic/stung-by-a-bee/

Not sure why Cricket gets away with that . . . though Cricket does seem to be the type that gives everybody eke-names.Hanineal wrote:Definitely only if she (or maybe, Cricket) suggested it.FreeFlier wrote:Only if she suggests it first . . .
Actually, dirigible means either airship or designed for or capable of being directed, controlled, or steered.Opus the Poet wrote:I thought blimps were the ones without rigid internal support and dirigibles had rigid internal supports. In the airship context, it doesn't specify rigid or non-rigid.

Re: Something To Fall Back On
Generally, "dirigible" is used to refer to rigid airships; "zeppelin", however, is specifically a term for rigid ships.FreeFlier wrote:Actually, dirigible means either airship or designed for or capable of being directed, controlled, or steered.

(Allegedly, the term "blimp" originated with a British officer on an inspection tour who flicked the tightly-stretched fabric envelope and said "Blimp!" imitating the sound it made.)

Re: Something To Fall Back On
surely to follow Atsali's line of thought... surely she is already a 'dirigible washer' when she has a shower!!!
(yeah I know she was thinking 'support' rather than 'large steerable objects' )

Re: Something To Fall Back On
Occurs to me this is more evidence of interaction with 'Sali's lost civilization... most young ladies of her age don't consider "something to fall back on" as worth a thought.

I'm sort of ashamed of myself, but, considering her probable center of gravity, it seems more likely she'd fall forward.

There is something missing in the thread title, but I'm not sure what...
Is this how she gets started with writing Steampunk?

In her feral form as a Siren, her wings probably help trim her out.AnotherFairportfan wrote:I'm sort of ashamed of myself, but, considering her probable center of gravity, it seems more likely she'd fall forward.
In my experience, most human women with natural attributes like hers have a little extra "junk in the trunk" to keep them balanced.

She's talking about her BRAS not her boobs. Bras that have underwires in them, you know, giant ridged structures covered with fabric. Oh yeah, that sounds like a dirigible.Opus the Poet wrote:I thought blimps were the ones without rigid internal support and dirigibles had rigid internal supports. Between what I know about dirigibles and what is inferred about Lydia's bras, I suspect the dirigibles have less engineering involvedWapsi wrote:She's talking about her BRAS not her boobs. Re: Something To Fall Back On
Well, there has been a good bit of talk over the years about bringing dirigibles back as passenger transports. And given her wings, they might not even need to touch down for her to wash them!
