AND it's JUST what Atsali needed to kick her fear off... remember she got snuck up from behind bye Tsillah's mom, and instantly spun around and punched her?... yeah... i foresee that tactic being tried again here (in direct opposition to what Cricket told her NOT to do, as well) and it will fail miserably because there is NOTHING THERE TO PUNCH!!! she'll instinctively process that "she was kicked" and "therefore the body/head should be riiight abooouuutttt HERE!!" and SWHOOSH... she punches with deadly accuracy, assuming there is supposed to be something there to oppose the punch force and re-balance herself (ie a body) but since there ISN'T... she's gonna go flailing off into the shadows just like a how drunken sailor tries to walk a straight line in order to get across the Quarterdeck but just can't seem to do it right.

All this is true. That raises the question of whose legs they are, though. We've seen simulacrums of Devyn in Nether before, and it's not clear if she was wearing thigh-highs today. They might be hers; or something like the teddy bear / monster. It's also not clear why just the lower half of a body. Maybe the idea IS to give Atsali a kick. She needs one. She's focusing only on herself and ignoring that the cheerleaders, the Flight Club, etc, etc are in Nether too and at danger. She should be trying to find them instead of cowering. She IS, after all, a heroine. Even if she doesn't seem to realize it.
