Now we see Nudge does know how to fight, or at least evade. I believe this could be considered immersion therapy. :geek:

We also find out for sure that those are barbs at the end of a sphinx tail.

Oh, snap, it is on like a telethon, my friends. Let's see how a fight between two antagonists who are 'indestructible' in their work environment plays out....

...okay.

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.

Well, we know one thing for sure now.

When Nudge decides to stage an intervention, she doesn't kid around!

(...I wonder when Phix will realize that Nudge is probably the best friend she has right now?)

Wow... LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!! Phix apparently needs to hit full momentum before she can calm down... either that or Nudge is taking advantage of the 'fully belly, slow tabby" syndrome. It might be a while before Phix fully forgives Nudge for this little episode... popcorn? Don't mind if I do... beer... phone turned off... OK, I'm good...

Indeed! This is quite the entertaining spectacle.

Next frame should be of Phix, caressing her tail, softly sobbing, and going "ayayayayyy...that réally hurt..*sniff* " :P

It must feel like biting one's tongue. (I haven't got a tail, so I can only guess)

Girl Fight! Girl Fight!! No love taps this time around. This is serious business. I think the judges will deduct points for the tail biting, however.

Sometimes it's necessary to let the someone blow out their frustration energy before they can be otherwise dealt with. And, as they're both invulnerable in their Library, this may take a while!

I wonder if Nudge is gonna go for the obligatory "skadoosh"?

Why exert yourself when you can let your opponent do all the work for you. Nudge is fast enough and Phix is just too pissed off to be thinking straight that she'll eventually wear herself out beating herself up.

This is a trickster at her best. I know Shelly called her Coyote, but I'm seeing less Wile E and more Bugs.

As pointed out by Kenneth Hite, Bugs is the modern American trickster spirit...

It strikes me, upon even a cursory search, that there are a LOT of tricksters in mythology. And while many of the Wapsi cast's supernatural entities seem to have carried dual roles now and then, they tend to usually just be temporary gigs.

Could Nudge have been ALL the big tricksters of mythology? Taking on a role for a few centuries, then skipping off to give birth to wolves or something, then appearing elsewhere as Coyote etc. I've seen internet trolls go to as much effort for lulz.

Some of them would give Bia a hard time in a toe to toe fight, and if Nudge has been playing the silly doggie for giggles, there could be some real power hidden there. (She is at LEAST a shapeshifter, so her current appearance doesn't mean much) I mean, YES she looked genuinely afraid of Phix a few times, but in the coffee shop, well, imagine walking into your local coffee place one day to find an adult tiger lounging on your favourite table... Any sane person WOULD be very afraid!
And when she got seperated from Tina in the library, that was, then, completely, Phix's turf. ie: You just wandered into the tiger feeding pen at the zoo.

Outside of the library, and not bound up with dozens of demons (which are a Sphinxes rightful prey?), Nudge might well have little to fear from any sphinx, and now as co-head-librarian, even LESS to fear from Phix, hence the willingness to chance antagonizing her.

Or maybe I'm just a Nudge fanboi and want to give her a scratch behind the ears.

Oh, my! That's gotta hurt! Nudge is clearly quicker than Phix, and thinking much more clearly.
Pass the popcorn, please!
