No pun with bubblegum reference, more of a term for "sugary pop music" songs like the one that even mention of sent jwhouk into convulsions.

And "earworm" is a term for a song or tune that gets stuck in your head and you cannot get rid of it.

When I was hacking the CSS for the main comic page I accidentally messed up the background here in the forum with it so I know it can be done, though only you will see the change.

Personally, I'm partial to the arrangement that mixes in the game over theme; 'Mario Likes Thorazine'. It's a string arrangement.

Glytch eyed the cards for a moment before looking around the room, checking for Louis. Seeing no sign of him, Glytch shrugged at Greg. "I don't know how to play poker, but I can play blackjack. I even know how to get myself kicked out of a casino with that game." He sat down at the table, adjusting his bandanna. "You can teach me to play your game or I can watch, if you aren't a fan of arithmetically-inclined blackjack players."

“Oh, my…” Louis glances around guiltily, then nonchalantly slips the picture trump for the 666 of staves back into the oblivion of the pack.
He fans himself with his hat; the climate seems unseasonably warm… Even the flies have given up their circuits of the strip light and now sit on the higher roof beams, eye-facets twinkling in the flickers of the strip and occasional octarine flares as the various gates, portals, warding spells and magitech thaumatronics around the hall interact.
He looks at the flies again. That doesn’t seem right. Do flies perch like that?
Louis sighs, uneasily. I suppose these do, now.
It was probably a good idea to bottle up the more ardent spirits of the Wapsiholics somewhere where their longing and frustration would not spurt— Louis takes the tarot pack and shuffles it, formally, ritually, to make sure he has broken his connection to the trump.
Not that that is likely to do much good given the thaumic activity accumulated here, he thinks, this place may need to be encased in a thick protective layer of oblivion once it is done with, to protect the mundane. Feathered gods forbid that an innocent should ever stumble in here…
He feels a squirming in the tarot deck, as if something is trying to slide out and bring itself to his attention. With a firm thrust he slides the thickness of the pack home into into the tight fitting sleeve of—
I have to find a distraction! Damn that Illiad! He thinks. Desperate, he glances round in time to catch sight of Greg and Glytch, and another card pack.

Louis strolls across to the G-men. “Gentlemen, deal me in. Let’s see how quickly you can take my shirt off me…”

Greg eyed Louis as he approached- "...you seem to be looking for an excuse to do so- very well, this deck is a bit... unusual... but not hard to understand- the four suits are Nooses, Bullets, Corsets and Garters- the first two are black, the second two are red- other than that, it's very much a normal deck... harkens back to a time when I was known as 'Marty Younger'. Don't pay attention to the bullet holes, they migrate. We're doing a little variant called "California Trouble'- three card max draw, dueces and one-eyed jackes are wild. Hardware must be on the table- glytch, that includes your pipe," with that, Greg produced (one at a time) an 1860 Colt, two 1847 Walkers, a coffin-handled bowie knife and an 1851 Navy in Richard's conversion to .38 Smith.

Glytch whipped his head toward the sound of Louis' voice and caught sight of something flashing up his sleeve. Greg was babbling some nonsense about a type of poker he had never even heard of.
"...Glytch, that includes your pipe."
"Woah, woah, woah, wait. What?" Glytch's eyes widened as he realized his weaponry was at stake. "The pipe? My hardware?"
Greg nodded as he extracted knives and guns from his person, laying them down on the table as though they were up for inspection.
"I think I'll watch, thank you." Glytch pushed himself back from the table. "The risk is too rich for me to play a game I don't know on a kind of deck I've never seen."
He peered around the table as everyone's expressions seemed to sadden, some more than others.
Glytch shrugged. "Sorry, but this is all I have, and I don't exactly have disposable income. I found this pipe and this knife on the sides of roads... but I'm game if the stakes are bragging rights."

Louis glances at the retreating Glytch. The poverty, the found weapons, the travelling, the firm sense of honour, but the desire to brag… but now it not the time to investigate the peculiarly familiar nature of the Glytch.

Eyeing the arsenal Louis sweeps a bow.
“My congratulations, dear Greg. I had not the least suspicion you were carrying those. No, no, no, please do not tell me — it is far more amusing to speculate on where you had them hidden and, of course to admire your astounding skills of prestidigitation.
“I myself am a man without such extravagant fear that I must assuage it by carrying upon my person the arsenal of the western world.” He pauses a moment to breath on the nails of his left hand and buff them on his coat, before continuing with a twinkle “Sure, it is the playboy of the western world that I am.
“Firstly, In the spirit of fair play, I declare my own…” He wrestles with his left sleeve to extract a thick pack of of long, narrow cards. “As you see they can in no way be confused nor substituted with your own pack physically, and the printing, most fanciful and indeed pleasingly baroque, is in the order of tarot—”
Louis splits the pack to demonstrate, bringing up the Knight of Pipes. “—and similar suites,” he covers with barely a hesitation.
“Offensive hardware though… I can see it is part of the ritual of the game so to keep in the spirit, here we are—”
Louis places his cane on the the table, removes from an inner pocket a bottle of high SPF lip gloss, a fine applicator brush, and carefully writes along the cane: VLTIMA RATIO REGVM.

"Bragging rights works for me," said 'Toons as he fished a small folding knife out of a back pocket. Tossing it on the table, he said "Careful, it's gots tweezers. The BAR is over there in the backpack, if anyone needs to know." and leaned back into his chair.

Twisting back into the room, TazManiac deposited a Blueberry Pie, a scratch baked Chocolate Cake, and a bag of freshly roasted Sumatra coffee beans on the nearest flat surface, and as he began popping right out again to retrieve the Ice Cream Churner, he remarked "Hey!, where did everybody go?..." as he twisted away from sight...

"Whoa, wha... Jeez he moves fast." was all that 'Toons managed to get out before Taz winked out. "Though I do believe it would be polite to wait for him to get back before we dig in.
