"Care for a falsetto?" (Arte Johnson, "Laugh-In")

I'd guess that if Devyn gets through this experience, she'll never be bothered by stage fright again.

Atsali: "Castela, did granma Lily give you something to eat that made you gassy?"

Okay, all kidding aside:

1. These four girls are, I'm betting, mermaids. And I suspect that Devyn's alternate form is dolphin-like. (High pitched and all.)
2. Devyn's bikini is probably the exact same size as Jin's. Except one of the two fills it out a bit more...
3. DANGIT, Pablo! Gotta go update the Character List again...

Saul Bass, the designer of many brilliant film posters (and quite possibly the actual director of the shower scene, following Hitchcock's detailed story boards) made an Oscar-winning short film called "Why Man Creates".

There's an animated sequence with a bunch of cavemen out hunting a Large And Cary critter, which chases them away the first time.

They go into a huddle, {mumble-mutter-mumble-mumble}, occasionally looking over at the critter...

And then, in chorus, the group go "YUH!" and point at one of their number ...who goes "meh?"

And the poor guy goes off to lure the critter into a trap, muttering lugubriously and dragging his spear in the dust...

Exactly the sort of huddle and selection process we see here.

Not seeing that here... it's showing what it ought. Whatever's weird between your browser and the site, seems to be at least somewhat localized.

Well it's working now. Bending the spacetime continuum must be a side effect of using an outdated version of Firefox.

Where's Squirrel Girl when you really need her? Probably off hanging with Galactus when she is definitely needed back in the Great Lakes area! 8-)

"Miss Atsali"?

If this were manga, they were be addressing her as Atsali-sama.

(Or possibly, Atsali-hime.)

Mr. Taylor's neck-drawing technique is very reminiscent of manga. Anatomically, they are preposterous, but functionally, they do what they need to do, which is bridge the gap between the oversize heads (which are enlarged as they are the most expressive parts of the character) with the bodies (which are the parts of the character that show physical action).

And since Atsali's hair is both very large and very expressive, Atsali's neck tend to get very long. 99% of the time, it is invisible, as we interpret cartoon characters' bodies more symbolically than representationally.

While this line may lead somewhere it is distracting from the real reason they are at the pool. We were all primed for someone to try and come down on Sali for her swim suit and watch Jin, and the others, reduce said person to bubbling grease in a fry pan. Is that happening? NO! We want to see that bigotry face the combined wrath of the Aunts. In other words we want to see the Auntie-tillery barrage fired!!!!

Drops a spare nephew into the jar. I am sure he will get a better education that way.
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

Come on, Devyn, this shouldn't be so hard.

"Miss Atsali, I am VERY SORRY to bother you, but Miss Jessie said she would switch our arms and legs on our bodies if we didn't come talk to you, and my chicken friends appointed me to be the one to do it. We think you're wonderful and impressive and an Alpha paranormal, and we'd love to be allowed to get close enough to worship you, and I'm going to go off and join a Buddhist nunnery now. Thank you for your time."
