I would say they're meeting in Mucho Mocha from the decore, not Jacob's coffee shop.

And that's one of the reasons we love Jin.

As usual, Jin cuts right to the heart of the matter.

And a fine and useful art it is, indeed... there's a bit of science to it as well, and some literature and linguistics, and a dash of history. Excellent stuff all around.

Yeah, Jin cuts to the heart as opposed to Bud punching to the heart.

I just assumed that they were meeting in Jin's place or Jin's mom's place--at least until I saw the to-go cup that Jin was carrying.

So, being as blunt as the face of a well-used hammer is only part of it? I don't suppose anyone happens to have a copy of the manual somewhere?

They would be cute if they hadn't been drawn like a pair of chinese fingertraps tacked onto the back of her head.

Listening to Atsali, you'd almost think she tends to be somewhat oblivious to things and people around her... ;)

That, and she doesn't seem to hear much of what other people say... (at least, not until she's done saying whatever it is she wants to say...)

Lets see 16 years old, built like a 20 something underwear model. Has the combat ability to punch out minor gods. Her list of relatives reads like the whos who of the paranormal world. Yea i dont see any future problems for mama kath here at all.

Sali does not really understand how to pick a role model. While Jin is smart, sexy, experienced in life, and with manipulating the entire world she has one problem with being a role model. Role Models are not certifiably insane.
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

Oh, I *like* this pairing. I'm glad Jin overcame her reluctance to mentor Atsali; hopefully she can help her stop being so oblivious. And talking over other people's comments.

Castella's work?

But she's not anymore, is she? The reset to a lower power setting and insertion of the whatever battery cured her schizophrenia, didn't it?

Now she's just dealing with the post traumatic stress of over 100,000 years of struggle, loss, and wanting to die.

She's not wearing them for you. ;)

In fact, this is exactly the situation that Jin was discussing in panel 4. 8-)

except from her victims??? :D
Human 16 year olds are robust, paranormals even more so... I would bet the 'abilities' actually come from the ethethians she downloaded, though...

Absolutely.

I said i didn't like 'em - sort of talking to the air - and if she heard me, she'd be absolutely free to ignore me or tell me to go pee up a rope.

That said ... i don't like those braids.

And i think it may be more the way they're drawn than anything else.
