Now this one I did not need to look up. A reference to Judaic folklore about where the human soul is from. The creators of Neon Genesis Evangelion also borrowed it.

Wow. That's more than we've heard Nadette talk at one time since we met her.

And there's more to come, i suspect.

I think Castela's about this far from taking Calista home and naming her George.

Looks like there's a "y" missing at the end of "they" in the last panel.

Currently, "-- one day the came upon--"

"...Just as much of a girl as you and I are." Important words for 'Stela to hear right now.

And, now it's Story Time! I love Story Time!

It just hit me, if they are talking about the same mythical Guf I referenced at the start of this thread, then the souls of the Fae are the same as the Humans. Would that mean that all en-souled beings would share a common heritage in that way?

Probably Parable Alert!

It's story time kiddies. Gather round and ye shall hear about the Guf in a long ago year.

Well, yes, no, and maybe on Castela hearing that. The problem is, there's a huge Damocles Sword hanging over Pickle; that is that she popped the head off a Fairy. As long as she thinks of them as bugs and her enemies, that's not a bother to her. Once she realizes she KILLED another person... Psychological trauma time. She needs to be eased into that. Making the point that Calista's as much of a girl as either of them, might bring on the guilt too soon... :(

This idea, if correct, would finally explain a very strange scene I remember seeing in a "Beanie, and Cecil the Sea-Sick Sea Serpent" TV cartoon many decades ago, in which they encounter a pair of shoes which were tap-dancing across the ocean floor and chanting "Fillet of soul! Fillet of soul!" If souls can adapt to fit into any sort of ensouled being, then obviously souls must have no skeletons... no bones about it!

(Places a copy of "The Collected Works of Bob Clampett" into the Pun Jar)

Remember: in Wapsi Square, there's always truth to the stories, but it's not always the truth you think.

Chekov's Gun: Queen Foxglove was a descendant of a Lanthian with connections to May. She stumbled upon the secret doorway that Mon and Shel are naturally.

Hopefully, the story being related is just a fable and not truth. It would seem to me that to really fit into the Waspi world, it would be more like that the Fae always had souls, just as other creatures, but their souls were suppressed by their demons or some such. Being demons, they would not care what happened to others or even their host so a demon ruled being would explain the Fae's actions as a species. At least until the sphinxes showed up, or some other event took place. I may be biased since I've just never bought into the whole Guf thing in the first place. I'd hate to see that become canon in Wapsiworld. But, of course, that is not my call to make.
