Minor typo... "you can call my cricket" s/b "call me cricket"?

... and now I'm going to have to do a Web resource-troll, looking for a really convincing "BEARNG!" springy-sound. :)

Yes, this friendship has real promise. Just what it's promising should be interesting to watch!

I guess Calista's "bearng" is like Atsali's "pa-ting".

Taking the speech pattern I can say that she is from either Chicago or Brooklyn. Both dialects have similarities (but Brooklyn sounds more likely in my head).

And at lunch she is likely to meet the twins as well.

Calista will have a fit when she eventually meets Atsali's Aunty M.

I'm trying to imagine a Cricket-sized mobile phone.

Sorry i couldn't QUITE get rid of the last note of the song - from the end of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band's "I'm the Urban Spaceman"

She needed to accept the truth sooner or later. As long as no one calls her that in a derisive manner she will be fine.

Let's hope Atsali doesn't dwell on this development for too long; she's late for class as it is.

For me, though, nothing beats Pratt & McBride.

*gasp* Lewd! ;) But yes, I'm sure looking forward to that meeting too. One can expect the Sororitas Ursas to shapeshift into replicas of Calista to try & best her at making an impression.

Oh. That's how she covers distance in the school. She can probably move faster than normal students. That also might be how she managed to deck the obnoxious kid: She didn't so much hit him as she launched herself upward at tremendous speed and smashed into his jaw. If she could achieve enough velocity she wouldn't need much mass to make a powerful impact.

I wonder if she's an ACTUAL magical cricket who's learned how to assume human shape.

I think Chicagoans tend to draw out their vowels more. Brooklyn was what I got when I was reaching her speech, as well.

Cricket and Castela, if they ever meet, might be comedy gold.

Here's a thought that just occurred to me....

I wonder if there's any relation between Calista and a certain piece of equipment that a super secret government agency has been known to use....

:o

So, if Castila is "Speed", the moniker of "Mother" is still open...
